Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon is one of the larger regional microbreweries here in the Pacific Northwest. I like their stout and porter. I find their pale ale too aggressively hopped for my liking. But this? Pacific Wonderland Lager is just a darn good beer. The hops are a good balance for the malt without being overly bitter. The alcohol content at 5.5% is within the range of most commercial lagers instead of trying to be outrageous. It is crisp rather than cloyingly sweet. In short, this is a solid lager that does not ruin the recipe by trying to be something it is not. Highly recommended.
