Elysian The Immortal IPA: An Amateurish Beer Review

in beer •  5 years ago

ABV: 6.3%. Reasonably strong.

IBU: According to their website, it's 63. The number is higher than I expected based on the taste. This is a bit bitter, but not harshly so.

Opinion: I think this brewery has focused more on making a well-rounded beer instead of just adding a lot of trendy hops, so it's not just another American IPA from just another microbrewery. The blend of malts is balanced well. Nothing tastes out-of-place. I am no expert on IPA standards, but I think this is a good beer in general, and worth a try.

It's a microbrew. Overpriced is a given. I got it at a beer and wine store that offered a build-your-own-6-pack because I didn't want to spring for six bottles when I didn't know what I would think of just one.
