Deschutes Brewery of Oregon is another northwest microbrewery with good regional distribution. I like their Obsidian Stout. This time, I'm trying their Mirror Pond Pale Ale. It's 5.0% ABV, 40 IBU and purchased in a 12 oz brown glass bottle in this case. It's definitely hoppier than other pale ales I have tried, but not overbearingly so like some IPAs. Still, it's closer to an IPA than some may like. Personally, I think it's a good option for a summer sports spectator brew. Too bad I don't tend to watch sports. I suppose I will need to find another excuse for myself.
