Wallace Brewing Vindicator IPA: An Amateurish Beer ReviewsteemCreated with Sketch.

Wallace Brewing Company is a microbrewery in the historic mining town of Wallace, Idaho in the Silver Valley. I had a mildly positive opinion of their 6:60 IPA and 1910 Black Lager, but I am having trouble mustering enthusiasm for this offering.

There's almost a metallic tang behind the bitter hops, which taste of pine and bitter citrus peel followed by an almost lambic earthiness. It's rated at 70 IBU. It's also slightly stronger than the average beer at 7% ABV, but I'm not inclined to drink enough for any alcohol percentage to have an appreciable effect.

I have had bitter and strong IPAs, and if I may not have enjoyed them, I at least appreciated some aspects. This brew will not be joining those ranks. For that pine hops kick, I'd prefer Founders All Day IPA, and I prefer Firestone Union Jack for a stronger beer, while for an all-rounder, Redhook Long Hammer IPA has grown on me since that review was posted. If you want a sour, earthy lambic, go buy a proper imported Belgian lambic!

As with any review, this is subjective, and your mileage may vary.
