Northern Summit is an 8.5% alcohol/volume Imperial Double/New England style IPA made by Farnham Ale & Lager with locations in Farnham, Quebec and across the border in South Burlington, Vermont. Farnham Ale & Lager is a young company that opened in Fall of 2013 with a mission to make artisanal beer accessible to all. Northern Summit is a refinement of Farnham Ale & Lager's popular '52' DIPA. This recipe is less floral, but even more juicy. It uses Galaxy, Citra and Ella hops.

The Can

The Northern Summit is served in a full pint can. It has a fairly simple label which features a blueish purple mountain range and an orange sun setting behind it. Northern Summit is written in large letters at the base of the mountain. The beers specs are seen down below.

The Beer

Northern Summit was a bright, glowing orange color when poured into a glass. You can barely tell the difference between a beer and a juice. At first sip it had a juicy, citrus taste. It was a fairly crushable DIPA for something with an 8.5% alcohol content. This was the first beer I've tried from Farnham Ale & Lager and it was delicious. I look forward to trying more brews from Farnham Ale & Lager in the future.
