In Uganda there are a number of beers varieties and all depends on people’s choices and preferences. Most of them depend on the capacity of the buyer to actually enjoy them. Some like soft beers and others strong ones, depending on how they are made. Some people prefer the modern ones and others the traditional ones. All of them have a particular reason and purpose in the community. I personally like the traditional ones. They are so amazing. You'll get to learn more about them as you scroll down.
Let’s first talk about the modern ones. They are divided into two types:
The soft ones
The strong ones
The soft ones are considered as normal beer and you need to take from 3 and above bottles to really feel it. Their volt percentages vary from 4 to 10% volt and some few guys challenge themselves by taking the 10% volt beers. The most preferred beer in Uganda is called Nile. It’s has a good aroma, malty and the taste is more preferable than others.
Actually, it is estimated that approximately 30% of people prefer nil than other beers.
It just has 4 percent and all of it appearance attracts people in joining and being fan of it. The product is well reputed and had no harm on humans body, may be if a person takes much and act in an inappropriate way. It’s said to be class, young boys and university students like showing off with Nil beer bottles to express themselves as they try to learn a new trend.
Secondly, there are the strong one: This is real. It has no jockes. Just a single sackets will make you feel nice and pleased to live more on Earth. It’s estimated to have 40% volt. I hope you know what I mean by 40% volt. Guys can run crazy on just the second sachet and the third to the four will make them rest for a while.
Most people prefer taking just a little, half sacket is enough for a good person. Some mix it with sodas and others in other beers to add on some volt and stomach within the beer.
In most countries, they have started burning these types of beer since they can be harmful if people use them badly. A person can have health related problem due to consistent consumption of these buyers and especially for broke guys with no food at the end of the day.

The last one is the traditional beers. I know many people may not like them, but they have a particular meaning in the community. It’s done locally with no modern item. The community gathers together around the circle and start jazzing, bringing on new and old stories. I like when the olderst start bringing those old stories before the colonials and the old proverbs and how they used to live with their wives.

Those stories make the traditional beer suit. Imagine this scenario when all the people are using the same jug with traditional strows. It tastes suit. The traditional beer it self is suit though unpleasant to other people (modern people). The taste is nice and the funny thing is that all drink almost at the same time and off course being drunk and jazzing when all guys are drunk.
If you want to see love, laughter, knowledge and care, then you should visit African villages. These people are really welcoming and being part of the circle taking some traditional beers, makes the people live in harmony.
if you don't take alcohol, It's fine. In my next article, you'll get to learn how cow milk was considered pure in my village and the way the villagers could package it in case a visitor could be expected.
Are there any small, independent, craft breweries in Uganda?
