Let’s hear the words of the brewer:
”Join us for a walk on the wild side. Through the magnificent raw nature of Sørlandet. Across the planet, gathering the finest natural ingredients. Into a world of naked passion and craft where the only rule is: there are no rules”
I guess they use the same pretentious liner notes on all their beers. My expectations are not that high after my last Nøgne Ø IPA review
The eye
It pours a hazy, dull golden orange with a very weak and quickly dissolving white head. Does not impress.
The nose
Straight from the fridge, it is weak, though with a distinct elderflower note. As it tempers, it flattens to a orange soda note.
The tongue
There is no real bitterness to talk of and certainly not in a strength that warrants the label Pale ale imo. As it tempers the palate does not really develop, except the weak bitterness gets even less tasty. The body is weak and with no real depth to it. One of the weakest bodies I have tasted for a long time from a “craft” beer label.
The verdict
A very disappointing beer. It really has nothing going for it and I advise you to stay clear of this one at all costs. It can work as a cold thirst quencher on a hot summer day, as it is closer to a soda than a beer.
