Another great beer from Santa Fe Brewing Company, the 7K IPA was our beer choice of the evening. The beer is full of tropical notes, with hints of grapefruit and citrus. The carmely maltiness of the beer also plays in to the full flavor.
The golden brew was delicious, a West Coast style IPA, which differs from East Coast IPAs by typically exemplifying bitterness above sweetness, and pushing for more complex and creative tastes. This Indian Pale Ale get’s its simple name from the elevation of the city in which it was brewed, Santa Fe, New Mexico at 7 kilometers above sea level.
For years, my favorite IPA from Santa Fe Brewing Co. was the Happy Camper, but after one smooth sip of the 7K, my mind has been changed. Semi-sweet, hoppy, and light, this is a beer I intend to drink again.
