French Toast Double IPA - Decadent Ales

French Toast is an 8.6% Alcohol/Volume Double IPA brewed by Decadent Ales. It was released in mid-October at Over Shores Brewery in East Haven, CT as part of the 'Twelve Percent Beer Project'. This tasty IPA is hopped with Simcoe and Mosaic hops. It is then brewed using real Vermont maple syrup, stove-top caramelized sugars and powdered cinnamon to give it an extraordinary flavor of French Toast. These are unfortunately very rare but if you manage to get your hands on some of these it is best to save them for a chilly day and to savor every drop. It's like drinking liquid French Toast... with a high alcohol content.

I thought it was very cool how this beer was released by a Brooklyn-based brewer at a CT brewery. On this day, the Twelve Percent Beer company released 3 different beers by 3 different brewers. They were all very wintry but differed in style. This French Toast Double IPA is perfect for a cold winter night, the maple cinnamon flavors warm the soul with every sip. There could not have been a better name for this beer. It was absolutely delicious. As someone who loves maple cinnamon french toast, this beer was amazing. But I could see how it may be over-powering to someone who does not have the same opinion. Overall it is a very different beer, full of flavor, and I was very happy to be drinking it.

Thanks for posting this, what a fascinating looking beer. I might see if I can import some into the land of Aus. :)

No problem my friend! It may be very hard to find because it's brewed in very small batches but I wish you the best of luck. It's delicious.

This beer sounds amazing, combined the sweet cinnamon toast flavour with big fruity hops is very interesting.

It was definitely very interesting but super tasty. I want MORE

Interesting concept for a beer, nice post, thanks for sharing!!

Looks good. Though I don't drink beer very often... being a Belgian I love to have a taste of it once in a while.... we have a brewery/cafe here that does a nice IPA too. Have a lovely week!

Thanks, this one is very interesting. Have a great week too!

Nice post @jeffjagoe Hope u ll look at my post and found them attractive

I’d try it unless they were asking over $10 for it.
My fav discovery-beer in the last year or so is “Highway to Ale” from Beer Valley in Oregon. Very strong, and very similar to a long lost beer from my youth, Wurzburger Dark.

Wow... why have I never seen this. Such an awesome can too!

It's unfortunately a limited release and impossible to find at a store
