By now we all know (and very much love the #beersaturday competition. If you don’t know this competition weekly hosted by the beloved @detlev , you are missing out on something. This competition has been going strong for over 100 weeks and that is actually a crazy amount of time!
Last weekend I visited the beer festival in Edinburgh which was hosted at ‘the biscuit factory’ in an old factory building. Three stories high and all kinds of breweries from all different countries were invited to give exposure to their own crafts. I sticked to my plan to only try IPA’s as that is currently my field of interest, and boy did I have a chance to try a lot of them. With the regular tasting glass (not the one shown in the picture above) the idea was to try as many as different IPAs as possible.
Now the friends I was with all have this cool app where you can take pictures of you beer and instantly rate it and I saw that we tried over 40 different ones over the weekend. I didn’t take my phone to the festival because I had forgotten my international charger and I needed a full phone to fly home with. So no rates and pics from me! If you ask for the one that I like the most? I honestly don’t know. I know I really liked a beer called ‘man overboord’ but don’t really recall from what brewery that this was (was this due to the amount of beer, or due the amount of different beers?? I dont know). So the only pictures that I am going to bring you guys, are lousy pics from the IPA that I got in a very cheesy pub on my way to the airport.. pictures or it never happened, Karin!!!
Seems you had a lot of fun. We just travel south of UK and London and I was to busy to do more posts.
But there where a few nice beer already.

yeah the beer culture is realyl turning out the good way and not just only lager and guinness anymore...good stuff!
I was positively surprised by the landscape as well up north....totally a reason to head back over there to those schotties!!

hahahaha exactly! something totally went wrong making pictures of beers, but getting home on the last day with a eticket and a phone which wouldnt charge wasnt a bad thing to actually consider I found :D

I love to attend these beer festivals, they just don't happen to regularly here in South Africa!!

They are happening more and more here, but not as much as I would like in Switzerland. Thats why my run up North to the British to attend this festival, and it was totally worth it!
