Bee's Added To The Endangered list

in bees •  8 years ago  (edited)

If you Steemians haven't heard - The Bee has officially been added to the endangered species list.

BUT

There is more to that, firstly the report states that the move is directed at environmentalism, protection and general preservation of natural wonder.

When we hear of Bee's added to the endangered list.

Everyone's minds directly jump to the Honey Bee!

Which would be a massive problem if it was. If the honey bee went extinct we would have nothing to pollinate any more. Fruits would disappear entirely! We would need to create robot swarms to pollinate everything as the honey bees did

Albert Einstein also said that

“If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live.”

But this is also just a theory ofcourse

Luckily the bee's added are in fact not Honey Bee's (Shew)

They are the Yellow Face bee native to Hawaii

Another positive

These bee's are not dying from a colony collapse

The scientists are actually just worried about their habitat. Therefor adding these to the endangered list well help their environment ( As previously stated above)

Great news ! But this does not mean we can ignore our Honey Bee's

In recent years there has been a decline in bee's in Europe by 53%

If you would like to read more on Honey Bee's please see : http://bees-decline.org/

So spread the news, and let people know that our honey bee is still safe - For now!

hi! nice post! can you cite your sources of the bee pictures?

Done :D just a question. Both images are labeled as free to use, is it required to still cite them ?

a beautiful

I have beehives , every year there is less of them . It is a global problem . Check my latest post.
Biggest problem is that farmers use more and more pesticides , bees got poisoned and they die after . The queen cant compensate that numbers with ease. Without them we are finished. There will be no crops , fruits , flowers.

Exactly, it is a worry definitely! we will have to have other means of pollinating. ( Robot Swarms? I don't know)
