Gday guys!
So Ive only recently begun with Steemit- and absolutely struggled for near on an hour to figure out the upload process for profile and cover images!
With a little help from my graphics designer (and generally more tech-savvy!) wife, I got there in the end! haha
So I figured others may no doubt be struggling to. SO to save yourselves the best part of an hour:
I was having issues with the image link uploading, however not displaying.
As you may have been directed, go to the link
From there, find the image file you wish to upload and click and drag it over the UPLOAD YOUR IMAGE text on link provided.
HOT TIP! Resize your image to suit the avatar before going through this process. For Avatar/Profile pic the optimum pixels was 340x340. The optimum cover image size was around 1354x155 pixels. This will ensure you get optimum quality and sizing as you imagine. (No surprises!).
Now, back to it- After you have clicked and dragged your image over the said text, it will begin uploading, and a small preview will appear. Click this.
The preview will open up. In general instructions it says to copy and paste the link into the space provided on your steemit settings. DONT!
You need to right click on the opened image, and select "COPY IMAGINE LOCATION". I was copying and pasting out of the browser bar link as I was told to, however this link wont work.
You can then go back to your Steemit account settings, and paste this link into "PROFILE PIC URL".
Just repeat those steps for your cover image also, and all should be well!
