Behind the Mystery door

Come ye. Come ye
Hear ye. Hear ye.
Tis the story once told,
But now forgotten
Stuffs of nightmares, and day plagues

The door. That door
At the end of the hallway of life
She went through her journey
To open or not, numerous choices she made
Till she came to the door

Large and ominous
Eerie and dreary
-too eerie
It stood at the end,
The only option

Sometimes dark, other times darker
Rumour has it, it spoke
A thousand voices, all at once
And it bid her come
To what, she knew not

Lies! some cried
Lies! some cried
It only stood a-waiting
Patiently, calmly for her to open
For t'was the only path left to follow

So she journeyed through life
Time and time, again
Taking different doors, each turn
But all brought her to that mystery door
At the end of the road

She must open, to continue on
Or be stuck in circles, for eternity
But what lies behind the door?
To go or not to?
The questions plagued

The old witch told
Yes she told
That the lady went a-through, finally
Don't ask me what she found on the other side
It is the mystery door, afterall

So maybe when you get to your road's end
You'll find out for yourself
The questions which now plague your mind
Perhaps tis what it is

just a story
But perhaps, ne'retheless, as true as stars
