2018 Belmont Stakes Fashion and Style

It's 2018, and it's time for another contender to load the gates for a potential triple crown victory. While I am a little biased to 2015 winner, American Pharoah, I do love this chestnut colt and 'Big Money Mike' duo and surely think they have the potential to capture the last jewel. The Belmont Stakes is the ultimate challenge at a mile-and-a-half, but with this colt's speed, stamina, and class, I believe he has what it takes.

Mike Smith is one of my all time favorite jockeys, and not only is he a great rider but also a truly positive and joyful individual. At 52, he became the second-oldest jockey to win the Kentucky Derby on May 5th. It was the second Kentucky Derby win for Mike Smith, who won it back in 2005 with a draw jopping victory with 50-1 odds riding Giacomo.

I hope Mike and Justify win because it would make another great heartwarming story for horse racing. I love watching the fans get excited about the horses. Even though they (horses) don't know it, they are the real stars. Mike is one of those guys who truly loves the horses, and his passion for the sport and the horses really shines. I had a great opportunity of watching him take Arrogate all the way to the Breeders' Cup Classic, and that's when I really got to see how much Mike loves the horses.

Now, not only is style a huge part of the Triple Crown from a fan standpoint, but it's also kind of a big deal for the jockeys as well. According to Thoroughbred Daily News, Justify will wear the red and yellow star patterned silks of the China Horse Club for his Belmont Stakes run.

While I don't think the fans are going to dress up like they did when American Pharoah was running, I do still believe fashion and style will be a huge part of this year's event. Elegant hats, fascinators, and fedoras are a must-have accessory for all triple crown races. If you haven't picked out your hat for the event, don't worry... Christine A. Moore will be exhibiting her exquisite Spring/Summer collection at the Belmont Park Racetrack. Below are some looks we've put together to help you dress for the occasion.

One-Shoulder Trumpet Dress in Ice Blue: by Nordstrom

Mecina Wedge Sandal: by Nordstrom

Chelsea Crossbody: by GiGi New York

Filey d'Or Horsebit Bracelet: by Hermes

Kara hb Fascinator: by Christine A. Moore

With sunny and 78 degrees as a weather forecast, we're looking good for wearing sundresses and wedges! Off the shoulder looks and large ruffles are trending. We are loving this color palette of light blue and neutral leathers.

Brixton Convertible Loafer: by Gucci

Edith City Crepe Fit & Flare Dress: by Glam Meets Glam

New York Daisy Scarf: by Kate Spade

Rosie Painted Fascinator: by Christine A. Moore

Tammy Pebbled Leather Clutch: by Ted Baker

We're loving the new collection by Glam Meets Glam on Nordstrom. It's classic and timeless, with lots of comfort! This pale pink, navy, and a pop of floral is elegant for the final crown jewel of the triple crown. Finally, it will be a triple crown race this season where everyone can skip packing the wells and umbrellas. Watching the Preakness' infield mud sliding and wrestling was totally unattractive from all avenues. We hope you get to enjoy the races from the sidelines, the bars, or from home this year as another horse tries to make history in Elmont, New York.

We'll be rooting for Justify at home this year in Wellington, Florida. Be sure to tune in to NBC to catch all the stories and excitement leading up to the Belmont Stakes. Post time for the Belmont Stakes is 6:46 PM ET, coverage starts at 4PM ET!

You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:

While I am a little biased to 2015 winner, American Pharoah, I do love this chestnut colt and 'Big Money Mike' duo and surely think they have the potential to capture the last jewel.
It should be pharaoh instead of pharoah.

Thank you! Autocorrect kills his name...
