Beltane in Etymology for Pagans, Christians and everybody!

Happy Beltane! Digging Deep with Etymological Possibilities

In the beginning Paganism and Christianity (or the root religion, thereof) were the same thing. This sounds like a loaded statement, and it is. The common impression given by and touted among historians is this; Christianity absorbed Pagan elements as a natural response to the spreading of Christianity among predominantly Pagan populations. Makes sense. I certainly used to not give this a second thought. Antoly Fomenko, in his groundbreaking work History: Fiction or Science?, presents a very real and tangible possibility that both Christianity and Paganism are fractions of a much larger world culture that gave us Orthodox Christianity, Catholicism, Paganism, Islam, and Judaism at the least.

Sound far fetched?

If you don’t have the time to at least get through the first book in the Chronology series, one that takes a sledgehammer to our consensual Scaligerian Chronology, I recommend this podcast by Max Igan to at least get a grounding on the possibility that our history is highly fabricated.

There’s a reason Catholicism has so many Pagan elements. And there’s a reason folk magicians of old appeared to have “absorbed” so much “Christianity” into their practices. If we can get past the brainwashing of our schooling and social systems then we can see that reverence to seemingly Pagan deities (even the word “deity” contains the etymological roots of duality, dios, dual, etc, implying the unification of multiples) can be a completely Christian (or Islamic, Judaic, Etc) thing to have. In fact, it is Christian Magic that helped many of our ancestors hold at bay the evil that controls us today.

At one point it is likely our ancestors lived in Logos and relative harmony with their surroundings. In this state they worshiped a pantheon of divinity (here, too, we see the concept of the many in the one with divine and division). Chiefly featured was the figure known in many regions as Bel, or Baal the Sun God (again we see the weighing of twos, or balance). By Sun God I’m implying duel meaning. The Sun God is the “Sun Within the Sun.” The center of all, or, the true shining light emitted from within all the “demi” Bel. So while this culture was polytheistic, they were also monotheistic. This was a culture that spanned most of the world and they used Solar Crosses to represent their God, even prior to the coming of Christ who came to be represented with the same. Within this God is the unification of the archetypes, similar to the Hindu “Godhead”. The cross implies the unification at the center. In many versions of the solar cross such as Celtic, Catholic, and Native American cross designs, the cross is within the center of a circle. The circle represents the ball. Bel is the ball and Bel is the center of the ball. The inner and the outer. Spheres within spheres. The Alpha and the Omega. Bel is the Sun. The Sun is a ball or a Baal, a God. The ball can swell out as in bulbous, and bulb. When taking in the flexion (nature of consonants to change with region and time) of b to p we also get words such as apple. The ball can be the within and imply a negative space such as bowl, bowel, and possibly pail. When taking in the flexion of b to v (such as how the Spanish v sounds like a b) we get the word valley. A vowel is a “hollow” space between consonants in a word. While Bel represented many a God in Celtic Paganism, we can again use our b to v flexion to get val (as in Valhalla, Valkyrie, etc) for the Norse equivalence.

The Sun is the center of our solar system. Likewise, the son is the center of a family’s future structure. The Son of God is the center of modern Christianity. Sol is the Spanish for Sun, which as we have already determined is the center of our planetary system. Soul is the center of man. The inner and outer connotation of the Godhead is the same, even in regions where the prefix and suffix Bel isn’t used.

It is known that in the far past prior to the regular use of paper, it was very uncommon to write with vowels. Vowels took up space, and writing on parchment was often strings of consonants with no vowels or punctuation. It is for this reason that we can disregard vowels when looking for the etymological links of old words. With this in mind let us look at some place names that may have absorbed the name of the Pagan Sun God in their etymology. There’s Belfast, Belgium, Bulgaria, and Belarus. There’s the Baltic States, and the Balkan Peninsula. There’s Belgrade, Bilbao, Balbek, Bialystok, and the Balearic Islands. We have already covered the flexion of b to p so let’s mention Poland, and Palma as well. With the b to v flexion we can add to our list the Volga River. Another possibility along this line is the word village itself. Taken as a suffix we have places such as Chernobyl, Naples, Tripoli, and Constantinople which is of course also Istanbul. Now let’s take another very common consonantal flexion, that of l to r. Doing so allows us to add to our list; Birmingham, Barcelona, Berlin, Bari, and the Barents Sea. Due to reversals in how different cultures read a page, right to left or left to right, it is also pertinent to take the inverse into account. For this reason we should consider places like Libya, Lebanon, and Halab. Especially when one also considers that Arabic is one of the more common languages that is “backwards” to our own.

It goes without saying that many of these etymological similarities can easily be chalked up to coincidence. On the other hand, taking into account the distinct possibility of a nearly Worldwide Proto-Christian-Paganism, it seems natural to trace with an open mind the possible etymological links that seem to abound. Bel is a part of our history, and it’s the history that is hidden from us that is used against us.

If the dark occultists that run the world are making sacrifices to Baal on Beltane as a means of charging up their intentional powers, It seems relevant to me to attempt to use our own Light focused magic to counter. Intentions are the key, and we can use these days of astrological importance to align our intentions with Logos. We have access to much magic if we only recognize it as such. Let’s do one more etymological spell to wrap things up; Bel = Bol = Vol = Love if one reverses it in the aforementioned manner. Etymologically, Love is Bel. It’s Love that Jesus tells us to embrace. It’s Love we embrace on Beltane. Celebrating Beltane is the Christian thing to do.
