The benefits of wisdom: For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant for your soul

The book of proverbs tells us about the benefits of wisdom. We can say that wisdom contains benefits for the common man and for the wise man, and for each one the benefits are different.
For those born with a predisposition to be wise, wisdom is an inner quest. Wisdom is more than a science or a perfect virtue, wisdom is also a path to the secrets of life and death, the secrets of human destiny and why we are in this universe, wisdom leads us to the true spiritual power, that is why wisdom is compared to a hidden treasure, those who find this treasure find the most valuable: the spiritual vision, the immortality, and the eternal life.
The progressive acquisition of wisdom with the intention of practicing and keeping it in the heart is the path to Gnosis, the spiritual enlightenment, the Gnosis is an internal revelation of the truth. About Gnosis the book of proverbs says: "For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul" Proverbs 2:10.
But for the common man, the benefits of wisdom are something more simple and direct. As in Psalm 1, the psalm of the two paths, we have to choose between righteousness and sin, and wisdom frees us from the path of error:
"Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.
Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men,
from men whose words are perverse,
who have left the straight paths
to walk in dark ways,
who delight in doing wrong
and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
whose paths are crooked
and who are devious in their ways." Proverbs 2:11-15.
Wisdom also holds a promise of blessing according to the Bible: ´inherit the land´. In ancient times there were basically two ways of life, settled life dedicated to farming and raising livestock, and nomadic life, the life of those who lived in caravans and engaged in trade. Inheriting the land means settled life, a safe and quiet life unlike life in caravans which was insecure.
People or peoples who acquire wisdom prosper and lead a secure life, explains the book of proverbs:
"Thus you will walk in the ways of the good
and keep to the paths of the righteous.
For the upright will live in the land,
and the blameless will remain in it;
but the wicked will be cut off from the land,
and the unfaithful will be torn from it." Proverbs 2:20-22.
