Hi Steemians! Travelling Berlin on Christmas Time is an amazing experience. Berlin is one of the best cities of the world for Christmas Market lovers! There is a market almost in every square and each one of them serves you different shops, restaurants, bars and activities. Let's discover the most popular 3 Christmas Markets together!

Before beginning: Here is the Mulled Wine Rules :)

When you enter a christmas market, first thing you should do is buying a cup of delicious mulled wine( glühwein) :) Wine glasses have deposit around 3 euros. Drink as much as you want with the your lovely christmas cup. If you want to keep it you can change it with a clean one and put it in your bag. :) Otherwise you can give the glass to the shop and take back your 3 euros. Of course I've kept mine lovely red cup:)

Gendarmenmarkt

Gendarmenmarkt is one of the biggest christmas markets in Berlin. It has a 1 euro enterance fee but you will understand why they charge you 1 euro, when you see the crowd inside. They just want to control the entrance.

Gendarmenmarkt is located in a very central position in a square among the old structures of Berlin.(Deutscher Dom and Opera Building) We preffered to eat turkey-burger and it was nice but there are so many options from pizza to fish. It is better to come here hungry and try different tastes in the market with the accompany of mulled wine.

There is also a lovely stage in front of the Opera Building and there are some shows especially on weekends. However if it is not a show time don't worry, always a nice music plays in the market:)

The market is also nice in the mornings but I prefer the ambiance with all the lights in the evening. :)

Alexanderplatz

It is one of the most crowded ones in Berlin. It has an ice skating are which is very cool! Especially during the sunset it is a pleasure to do some skating with the accompany of classical music.

If you see a shop selling their own liqueur, try it! You can discover an amazing tastes with a low price.
Alexanderplatz is very colorful and fun. I'm sure you will enjoy to spend couple of hours in here.

Potsdamer Platz

Another big christmas market is in Potsdamer Platz. There is also a skating area in here but it was not lovely as the one in Alexanderplatz. There are lots of restaurants in this area so first you can have your dinner and then you can visit the market. There are more clothing shops in this market when it is compared to others. If you are not prepared for the "Berlin Cold" you can buy some staff (scarfs, gloves etc.) from here.

it sounds also tasty! :) By the way, when is the best time to visit Seweden? It is on my list but haven't planned yet... will be happy if I can take some advice:)

Midsommar! Winter might look cool with some snow, but usually its just dark and chilly and not always white. We were just there for June/July and it was perfect: https://steemit.com/photography/@nords/glad-midsommar-sweden-celebrates-the-solstice-and-longest-day-of-the-year

thanks a lot for the advice:) Lovely post by the way:) I would love to join some festivals like you :)

Beautiful trip, we hope to make it there one day~ thanks for sharing!
