Its Black Friday. A day to shop and be merry especially when Christmas is around the corner. Amidst the cheer and laughter, there is a war ongoing in the Steemit Community. The war of flags.

Personally I love this man. Been following his campaign trail in the United States, but the two most unscrupulous candidates were pitted against each other and America having to choose the lesser of two evils. Well, do you really have a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea? Technically, you do. It is choice nevertheless.

Knowing the Crusade

I find it quite interesting and intriguing at the same time watching the personalities go into a flagging rampage. Parties that are deemed to be abusing the spirit of the steemit community has been flagged. It is not easy to flag someone when that person is a whale. The one man who took the crusade to a whole new level is none other than 'the good whale'.

It is not that I am fully supportive of the entire flagging exercise. There are casualties as well. There could be 'circle jerkers' but again if these people are just minnows trying to survive and the only way they could make a decent USD0.20 a day is by having their own circle of self support. That didn't seem wrong to me.

What would seem wrong is when people who are in receipt of delegation for a specific purpose misuses that delegation and do it for their cronies. That is WRONG.

Finding the Needle in the Haystack

Well in this entire flagging exercise what is commendable is the effort by @littleboy to uncover plagiarised works that has escaped bots such as @cheetah. Pretty good detective skills if you ask me. The last few days, it has just been about reading the skirmishes that has taken place and how @surpassingoogle has been accused of cronyism.

Why Steemit the Best

People want the war to stop. To me this war has no physical victim but it is also a mark of a thriving economy. We ask for a system that has no censure, a system that is free from central regulation, well you have it. It is a thriving decentralised system. There are some good whales that are doing the community a favour, there are selfish whales that cares for their pockets but again, isn't that the real life that we face each time we walk out our cosy homes.

Why is it that when it happens in steemitropolis, it seems too shocking to be swallowed. It is time for us to bury the hypocrisy and accept the reality of the game. I would want steemit to stand for a strong solid platform with good contents, but at the same time I think the real check and balance is the community itself. That is what made Steemit great!

So we are reminded that there is a dark crusader that do strike some fear every now and then. So here goes...#bernieblackfriday

As long as minnows themselves for the sake of the 20 cents a day do not abuse their ability to post with borrowed content or senseless ones, I am sure those minnows who although swims among its peers during its initial birth will be able to conquer the tougher waves.

Stay integrity, stay original. And in time it will take flight to higher ground.

Hi @littlenewthings. Yeah but i dont think anyone is out to catch minnows upvoting each other. They hardly damage the ecosystem but yeah plagiarism will destroy anything be it minnows or whales.

While I do hate the circle jerks that go on and something needs to be done about it, the problem lies with the autovoters, those are the true culprits. They select a few(or many) authors and auto vote to cash in on the curation rewards. this is a big problem.

In regards to the flagging that is going on, I had a post flagged today by @steemcleaners. The post was about a new crypto exchange and because i had my referral link in the post @steemcleaners flagged it for $25 in potential rewards. For a whale $25 is nothing but for small steemians like myself that $25 just makes me angry and pissed off about this fucking platform and what is happening.

I personally feel auto voting is useful when one (genuine really busy writer) does not have enough time to skim through every good content; and not mere bots (that has no content at all).

It is at the end depending on how that person is using / misusing the system. All about the heart of the human. The system can only be built / destroyed by humans (who initiated it) themselves.

How are you doing @jasonshick ?

I should rephrase. People that solely use autovoters just to take advantage of popular authors curation rewards are the problem. If you truly enjoy reading an authors stuff but don't have the time, then sure a small percentage autovote is no problem. It's the people that just vote on every post some top whales produce that ruins it for the rest of us.

Things are going well with me, thanks for asking Jesicca. Hows your group doing?

I know what you mean, flags scares us, especially when it is reputation and money at stake. Circle jerking is almost inevitable for minnows when they want to survive. It is not always that good contents get noticed and upvoted. So, to survive minnows may have to resort to this festival.

I would love to. Done. Continue the good work.

When you have self appointed sheriffs like this @littleboy who think they can police others without being reprimanded, that's how the steemit community gets polluted. The fact that you think you can take rewards away from people for no other reason besides flexing your muscles is appalling. You may have more SP than I currently do, but I will not forget your actions. Your screen name says all I need to know about you.

Here's what you did: Posting the same thing twich and on top that both of them are spam posts. You sure have a big mouth.

Clearly reading is not your strong suit. Because you obviously didnt read my post. The only reason it posted twice is because there has been a problem with steemit lately not posting articles and then double posting, once an article receives an up vote, it cannot be deleted. You just took away rewards from all the people that upvoted and who I was going to send SBD to because of the double post. Here's what you did; stuck your nose into someone else's business, didn't even care to communicate with me and just decided you alone should determine what the payout is. Like I said, I won't forget your arrogance today

I didn't feel the need to considering that you were mention spamming plus got downvotes from steemcleaners. You were also calling steemcleaners comment a comment spam.

Precisely the problem when people don't read things, they make assumptions without putting in the time to actually know for sure. Keep using that delegated SP inappropriately. It's unbelievable how people can put a lot of effort into posts and then have some assholes comes along and take any rewards away because they thought it was spam, even though they "didn't feel the need to" read the post.

I did see your post. A. Your post was nothing more than a promotion that serves your interest. B. Double post.

Clearly you didn’t read my post, stop lying! The post does not serve my own interest, you have no idea what my post was even about. You’re supposed to be looking out for plagiarism and spam in the community and you don’t even know how to identify it.
My post was about a new exchange that has lower trading fees than all the other exchanges, the fact that you think it is spam is mind boggling. I really hope your delegation gets taken away cause clearly it has been wasted on you

Has littleboy flagged u?

After my first comment on your post earlier, he went over to my blog and down voted a post of mine, no comment, no nothing, just flexing his muscles and being a jackass. Precisely what is wrong with this platform

Double posting do happen by accident. I had such occasions too.

That's not the main reason i downvoted. She was promoting a service with ref link.

Now i see why

It's not a service you jackass! read the damn post!
