But I digress, so Guts and his merry band carry cool items and artifacts. Guts Dragon slayer, Secipo wind blade, the salamander blade used by that boy over there… Kinda like Kirby, except he doesn’t need to eat cute woodland creature to get his point across haha get it point…….anyways in Guts inventory, nothing is as mysterious or as powerful as the ancient armor once used by the Skull Knight, The Berserker armor. Not to dumb down the details but the armor does a lot for Guts at a huge price. It Allows the user to fight well above their limits, taking away any sense of reasoning and pain. The user will not be able to distinguish friend from foe and will kill all he sees. Guts, as strong willed as he is, he is not an exception to this rule and without the help of Schiekie, would have died while using this monstrosity to fight. So why in the “Bleep” would the Skull Knight suggest Guts use this deadly cursed item. The thing was made by dwarves for crying out loud. But dwarves are nice and like going through the woods with snow white, WRONG….dwarves in the world of Berserk could be much darker than you think. In an old Norse work of literature known as the Prose Edda, describes dwarves as maggots that festered in the flesh of Ymir the Jotnar. Ewww, if that was not creepy and disgusting enough well here is more, These maggots were gifted with reasoning from the Gods and something even more interesting than the maggot thing is that the Prose Edda gives the four dwarfs Norori, Suori, Austri and Vestri a cosmological role that they hold up in the sky, the role of the old Norse cardinal points North, South, East and West. We have seen similar characters in the Berserk story with the Elemental Kings….Ohhhhh, ahhhhhhhh
Well our theory for this crazy suggestion by Skull Knight to wear the armor is simple. Skull Knight wants Guts to win and based on his own experience with the Berserker Armor, his previous jail cell, he my be able to do so. Hold up. Did you say that the Berserk armor was SK prison before???. Yes this is the theory we are submitting to the good people of youtube…. We believe that it is possible that the berserker armor was placed on the Skull Knight as punishment for his acts as King Gaiseric and here is why. King Gaiseric brought a sage to the Tower of Conviction where this Sage was tortured until his prayers were answered to destroy the capital city of Gaiseric. These were done by four or five angels according to the legend told by Charlotte. As we already stated earlier, the armor has numerous side effects and one of them is not being able to distinguish friend or foe. We also believe that persons wearing the armor can be trapped in the true berserker mode indefinitely. As we have seen in the series so far, Guts has only been brought back to his senses with the help of Silke. As a matter of fact, if it wasn’t for the amulet created by Flora to protect Guts ego from crumbling, Guts would have been a monster far beyond the reaches of any apostle from the start. The armor we see guts wearing is a water down version of the beast version Skull Knight wore. Just look at the sheer amount of time it took Flora to prepare it. It is worse than buying a new car with all the options and definitely way more than a few hours to prepare.
So this is the scenario, picture this the Elemental kings who happened to be dwarves wants to punish a Mean King who wants to rule the world under his own kingdom, what would be the best way for these beings who are known for making dark artifacts to do this? Create a armor to entrapped the King and have him destroy his own Kingdom with his own hands for hundreds of years. But wait one minute, that is ridiculous, how the hell would he stay alive for so long with the armor on. We do not know the full effects of the armor but we can go off on what has been shown in the manga so far. The user loses the sense of taste, touch, smell, etc. The armor can eat other creatures which may be a feature to help sustain the host, and we were also told that the last user wore the armor till he basically bled out. Now we ain’t no geniuses or prophets but if the Skull Knight who is at least 1000 years old is still around and he was perhaps the last person to wear the armor, then maybe it also has the unique feature of giving the user longevity. So Skull Knight wears the armor as punishment, kills many friends and foes, is freed from the bondage of the armor by flora at some point, then dies while battling in it and is re born as Skull Knight. He then creates a plan to get revenge on everyone involved by using their own creation against them.
But why Guts? Because of his brand. This gives him a direct link into both plains. Since wearing the armor, Guts has yet to face off against another God Hand member. Guts still retains his mortal body and the brand, something Skull Knight may have lost centuries ago due to his death. Skull Knight said that he exsist outside the reason of Time, this could mean that due to his own mortal death he is unable to affect fate directly. Guts however blows past all these boundaries, so much so that even godlike beings are unable to prdict his destiny. We have also seen that the armor has the ability to evolve, and as such there may be a superior mode to the armor that we have yet to see…Kinda like Gear furth, Super sayian blue, tengo toppa girren laggon….you get it. So, Skull Knight because of his past is leading guts down a similar path, but has prepared him by arming him with a less evil version of the armor and a witch that can help him control it. This way, SK can use the effort Guts provides to direct him to specific goals. As these goals are completed, the targets become bigger and bigger until their sights are set on the Godhand. So what do you guys think? Were the Elemental Kings the jailers of the Skull Knight and was his prison the Berserk armor?
