The Angel of Life and Death - adding my painting to Bescouted

in bescouted •  7 years ago  (edited)

I am sharing this piece again to add to my Bescouted collection. #bescouted

I made this piece as part of a colab/contest thanks to @everlove for their great #collaberativeartjourney initiative. I love using these types of collabs as a means to build up my own portfolio of work and was quite happy with the result.

Playing off the curves and shine of the original photograph which was almost abstract in form, I instantly saw (after some flipping of the image) the perfect world in which such a sprit/angel could dwell.

The curve and shine of the glass gave me a feeling of serentity but glass, by it's nature, seems to hold potential danger, as shattered glass can easily become a sharp danger or weapon. All of this lead me to represent the figure both in a serene moment of contemplation as well as a deadly moment of being bitten Cleopatra like by the snake.

I hope to build up a good collection of my work on bescouted and am happy to be a part of that.

She's awesome @donnadavisart! You did a great job with this very abstract concept - I love what you saw in the original image. Great work - LOVE this! <3

Thank you. It was fun to do!

I love all of it and everything. I have used up all my vote power, but aha they can not get me to stop talking. So this is the reply and the answer for all the past few blogs you have done. Wow is the word, the word I will use since I am not sure how to express what I see. Its hard on the laptop. I am getting a sense and a feeling from the art, but I am not sure I can completely put my finger on it quite yet. Somewhat mysterious. However I love them all each and every one of them. As time goes by I will come up with more descriptive words.

Ah, but I still have vote power for you, so there you go ;) Thank you so kindly, I am glad it resonates with you. It is really touching when someone finds something that evokes any kind of emotion in them from looking at my art, thank you will all my heart :)

you are very welcome and thank you for the 2 cents. hee I think I also just realized that you and @winstonalden are from the same household.

Hah - only since 1995 though!

ah...newbees, that's still a honeymoon... this felt wierd..you answering on a different page.

beautiful .. somehow it's mesmerizing, lol.. I couldn’t stop staring at it. Funny enough it reminded me of ancient Egypt, and that was before I read what you wrote about Cleopatra

Thank you.

I love her hair (green and fiery orange) and how lavender color and green are juxtaposed on various strategic parts of this painting. Good rhythm.

THanks I really love colour and playing with combinations.
