The Little Edinburgh Project

This is Little Edinburgh, it is a series of shots I have taken around the city of Edinburgh in Scotland over the years. It is called Little Edinburgh because the focus of the project is to take photos in a way as to show the city in miniature using the tilt-shift effect. Edinburgh is an international cosmopolitan city but still somehow has a small town feel to it. I cannot walk down the street without recognising someone I know. So with that in mind it felt appropriate to create a vision of Edinburgh that makes it look very small, almost like a toy town.

Ice Skating at the Christmas Market

Every year at the Christmas market in Edinburgh they bring in an ice skating ring providing fun and broken tail bones for the whole family. It's always popular and in true Edinburgh fashion they also build a bar overlooking the ice ring. From there you can either nurse your sore bones after your own skating session or enjoy a tipple while you watch other people endanger themselves on the slippery surface.

Whatever your pleasure, it is one of the best spots on the Christmas market and truly brings out the feeling of christmas like nothing else can!

it is very fun to skate with the whole family in that place

The kids love it! Thanks for commenting :)

I love the idea behind this series, and I like this one in particular! I've been in Edinburgh only for a week but I understand you feel it can be both a big city and a small town in 1... Especially if you live there it must feel even smaller.

Thanks! Yes this is very true.. live here for a little while and you won't be able to go anywhere without recognising someone you know! :)
