Hi David, nice to hear from you. You are right it is not so easy to understand what people prefer. As to us, we decided to stay on Steemit and posting currently only here. Of course when Hive was created everyone had his cloned account and if we want or not we are there too. To post in both it is too much time and efforts, for us we have a lot of friends on Steemit and we decided to stay here.
On Hive we still upvoting our friends who use Hive but we switched autovotes, so we do not miss them and this also generates some Hive, why not earn if this opportunity exists.
As to you, definitely you can weigh what works better for you, there are more curation projects in Hive and when posting there for example in "OCD" you probably will be getting better upvote. Although it is difficult to predict depends on people at curation group.
We love your works and we will keep an eye with our @stef1 and @art-venture accounts.
As to now @steemcurator08 account it is there in order to try to keep people on Steem and the works that posting on Steem will be upvoted. Those works that are posted the same day on both blockchains we will not be upvoting with this account. But if you posted in Steem first and after few days or may be a week decided to post in Hive that is your choice as it is your private property and you can do whatever you think better for you.
I hope it is a bit of clarity. Also we are running currently a photo contest: Last holiday. If you have an interest we would be really happy to see you works. Here is the link and wishing you nice weekend, David:
Thank you for taking your time for such an in depth response, appreciate it a lot @stef1
It makes me a little sad and breaks my heart to see a community to split like that. Like a civil war, i was expecting we can avoid this on blockchain but it seems it catches up.
I get the reasoning of both sides though and will not be reposting the same content on both platforms and upvote value is not a major factor to me (ofc it is nice, noone could argue) but i would prefer lesser (but fair in comparison with the others) reward to more genuine engagement.
Anyway, i guess we'll have to wait and see how it turns out, and i will definitely check your contest for submissions :)
