I claim that, for the world as a whole, 2023 was the best year in history.

Seriously. Rapid economic growth. More people above the poverty line than ever. Almost no wars, and the ones happening are small. EVs and renewable energy growing at incredible paces.

So why is everyone so negative? Excellent article on the seven reasons pessimism reigns.
