After numerous plans to visit Kashmir that all went in vain, I finally landed up at the airport of my dreams, yes, Srinagar it is! My eyes were wondering here and there because I really couldn’t believe myself that I was standing in Kashmir. I buckled up in the taxi as I embarked the beautiful and mesmerizing journey I have been waiting all my life for. This dream took almost 20 years to get fulfilled.
The landscape changed as we started moving and even the temperature started dipping although slowly. The winding road was gaining its height as I was approaching the luxury boutique hotel in Srinagar that I had booked for the stay. The snow kissed forests, white high snow clad mountains on both sides of the road, the chill present in the air and the beautiful fragrance of the environment made me even more excited to be in Srinagar, the beauty of India.
