Great Laptop, it plays basically any console games I could think of at high settings by default as well as pc exclusives, you can always use more ram to put it up to max.I will say it still has the same overheating problem, but I always put the fans to max if it's too hot and I use a laptop cooler. So far I haven't had it overheat a single time.Just make sure to put it on a flat surface like a desk, don't play games on the bed.Other than that, the performance is fantastic and worth the money if you don't like bulky pc setups. Laptop coolers are uder 30 dollars so it should be an easy purchase
Great computer, runs games really well. It gets very hot very quickly if you start to run more than a few chrome tabs. I recommend getting a cooling pad for it, the fans are fairly strong but the inlet slots for the fan are tiny so it struggles.
I love my computer so much! It has customizable keyboard and can settings! Perfect for gaming and it isn’t expensive ❤️

I bought this as a middle ground to decide whether i wanted to get back into gaming on a computer, or go back to a system. Not gonna lie, thought it was great at first and was tempted to write it a review, but I gave it a bit more time and now i feel like i have a better understanding of it.I am not a tech guy, or at least not a build your own computer kind of guy. So when i bought this i thought i was getting something really good, but now i know that it's just average. The screen is good, the RGB keyboard is a nice touch, and the predator feature is nice. You can manually put it into turbo mode an boost it's output at the cost of fan noise. It sucks in air through the top and expels it though the bottom, which can made it really hot.The actual power of the laptop is different though. It can handle games from the 2000's well. But anything after that and it can start to bug out. War Thunder, Destiny 2, Apex, COD, and other major games can be handled for the most part. But if things get hectic or there's a bit more to process than the system would like, everything will get really choppy. And you'll be forced to kick it into overdrive (turbo). Then switch it back and forth till it either accepts being in overdrive and runs smoothly, or until you give up and accept that you'll need to fidget with it again until it's not choppy anymore. So other than these things, i like it. It's portable (which was why i bought it) and it mostly runs the games i want it to. But would i pay +1k for it? No. Bigger and better laptops are out there for less or the same price than what you'll get for this. You could pay an extra $200 and get a newer one, though it'd still be overpriced compared to what it's take to build your own computer. So yeah.
This is a good laptop. However, I face a lot of small issues for a new laptop.1. Bug exists when I switch to another language (i.e. English to Chinese)2. After I plug the second screen to this laptop through HDMI, there are lots of buzzing noise in the headphone (I try three different types of headphone, one of them is even noise-cancelling headphone). The noise disappears if I use a wireless headphone.3. After I plug the second screen to this laptop, even playing a video makes the fan of laptop running so fast, which causes lots of noise.Actually, I am not very satisfied with the product. Small issues of this laptop bother me a lot.
I bought this laptop as a last second mobile CAD workhorse (I'm an Engineering Technician). I did a TON of research on laptops close to the $1K mark that were also prime available on amazon. There are a few configurations of this laptop on Amazon, this being the entry level RTX version. So far, I've been blown away by the build quality and performance of this Helios 300. ACER has been my go-to for reliable computing for awhile now. Let's get to it:PROS:X2 M.2 slots for storage PLUS a SATA bay for even moreRGB zoned keyboard (and a great feeling one for gaming / everyday tasks)BIG vents on rear and sides, PLENTY of intake area on bottomThe thing just looks awesome, props to the design team for making a gaming laptop that looks professionalPredator sense UI is clean, loads quickly, and easy to useWith ray tracing on I saw around 60 fps on COD war zone with settings maxed. Not so much CONS:Fans get loud under load, but they react quickly and bring temps down FAST. It's an RTX machine, what can I say?Audio could be improved, especially BASS... but you've read this before with any laptop ad I know you'll be using headphones for gamesPower connector is in the rear center, you have to account for hardware layout here howeverBATTERY LIFE - probably the biggest complaint here, I would have absolutely spent an extra $100-$200 for better battery life if possibleSTORAGE CAPACITY - Would have liked a configuration on Amazon with 1TB + of this amazing nvme SSDIncluded case feels nice, but should have an extra pocket for the power brick (considering you'll almost always need it)All in all a lot of this goes without saying, but what is worth repeating is that this computer has 100% exceeded my expectations. This is the laptop to get mid-late 2020 if you want a 10th gen Intel chip and RTX. Thank you ACER!

TL;DR: greatest qualities of this laptop: CPU, GPU, cooling solution, 144 Hz 5 ms response time display, keyboard, I/O ports placement, upgrade options. I.e. everything, LOL :DI was looking to build a mini-ITX desktop PC, and was targeting around 1500$ with monitor and peripherals. Then I suddenly came across the Ryzen chips and their shocking performance advantage w.r.t Intel mobile chips. This Legion 5 with a 45W Ryzen 7 4800H and an 80W 1660 Ti is an absolute beast of performance-per-watt metric.1) 4800H scores 4500 points in Cinebench R20 multi-thread. Just for reference, desktop Ryzen 7 3700X does 4800 Intel i7-10700K does 5300. For a mobile chip this is phenomenal.2) Lenovo did great job with cooling! Other laptops with 4800H have slightly lower score in sustained load. HP Omen and especially ASUS TUF laptop with their awful blocked air vents.3) 1660 Ti is full 80W, that means it is not restricted in performance. Moreover, it has a headroom for overclocking, I got +150 MHz on core, + 1000 MHz on memory with GPU max load temperature around 78 degC.4) The display is gorgeous. 144 Hz, 5 ms response time (with (!) Overdrive in Lenovo Vantage). It is just perplexing how this laptop in this price category includes such a jewel of a display.5) Keyboard is very nice too. I am comparing to Lenovo Ideapad 720S-15IKB laptop which has flat and shallow keys. Legion 5 in contrast has curved keys with much larger travel. Feels really great in long typing sessions.6) Upgrades, upgrades, upgrades. There are upgrades for: storage (NVMe + SSD or 2 x NVMe), RAM (up to 64 GB), Wi-Fi and even battery! This Legion 5 version has 60 Wh battery which allows to install secondary SSD. However you can order and install an 80 Wh battery which usually comes in Legion 7i. Secondary NVMe can be installed in any case, but it blocks the SSD upgrade.7) Ports! There are 4 x USB Type A, 1 x USB Type-C, HDMI and LAN. Such plenty of choice satisfies all laptop needs. Moreover, only 2 USB ports are on the sides, whereas everything else including charging port are on the rear side. It makes so much difference in cable management and access, such a great port placement decision!8) Finally, this laptop is more on the traditional side. It has webcam, it is on the top of the screen, numpad is present and has standard layout, Home/End/PgUp/PgDn buttons are primary and full-size, arrow keys are full-size in usual T-shape. Such a pleasure to use this laptop!9) Accessories. I purchased a TomToc laptop sleeve (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DLBJ4QD) which fits really nice! Also I got the Razer Gigantus V2 mouse pad Medium, which fits great in the sleeve.Thank you Lenovo!
This is a nice laptop, and I am not even a gamer. I bought a Playstation 4 just for console gaming only.I agree with other reviewers that the build quality of this laptop is not good. It's not just because it is made out of plastic. There are metal bars on the left side and right side of the keyboard which bend very easily when picking up the laptop. The computer itself looks crooked if these bars bend, so you always have to pick up the laptop with two hands (left and right sides) and try to bend them straight to keep the laptop straight. You shouldn't have to do this on a laptop. The trackpad on my laptop was unfortunately defective. It clicked well on the left side. However, on the right side, it made a loud rattling sound when tapping to click. Pressing the trackpad down all the way to click worked. However, the rattling sound was distracting while using the computer. It is similar to the defective trackpads found in Dell XPS 15 9500 where users described a wobble or looseness in the trackpad. The trackpad also made loud popping sounds by simply gliding your finger from the right side to the left side (no clicking down).Don't get me wrong, it is still a great computer. I think if you are going to use an external USB mouse, then this will not affect you. Working from home with this computer required a good trackpad, so I was a little disappointed.
This was bought for my son for blended learning, and some gaming on the side. It is an extremely fast machine. The keyboard feels amazing, set in soft touch material on the keyboard deck. I am hoping to put some games through their paces in the coming days using Game Pass, and have noticed the 1660 Ti GPU allows for overclocking through the Vantage software. This should only benefit gaming performance. My initial impressions are that this is a superbly designed device. Big up to Lenovo for using the new AMD Ryzen chips for their 2020 laptop lineup. I honestly can't recommend this machine enough. For users who may be experiencing minor issues like freezes, please use the included Vantage software to update the BIOS and give yourselves peace of mind. Bear in mind also - this is a gaming laptop. You aren't going to get amazing battery life. However, as I type I've exceeded four hours of schoolwork, productivity and Youtube playback. For what's under the hood, I'll take that.EDIT: I have played both Forza Horizon 3 and 4 using the laptop. Horizon 3 plays extremely well and looks fantastic on the screen, but does suffer from some stuttering. Forza Horizon 4 set up the game to run at Ultra Settngs through its benchmark. The level of detail the game manages to maintain while maintaining such a sense of speed is impressive. I ran games in both balanced and performance modes, and while the laptop got warm, the fans kicked in and kept things at a comfortable level. The fans are never too loud either.

I'm a casual gamer, really like to play but mostly old games and also like a powerful yet not so flashy laptop for work. I was a bit biased on Dell, not the best as every know but they have interesting things in this budget and my last Dell laptop did work for good 5 years (with bad thermals and underclocking the intel cpu), but Lenovo got my attention with this combination of Ryzen cpu and Nvidia gpu. This unit is extremely powerful and well done. Seems that Lenovo is doing a really good job with the thermals. The laptop is pretty functional, sturdy, not very heavy and a very good screen, mouse pad, connectors, without being too flashy on the design. I usually use a secondary screen so the laptop is mostly working as a desktop unit until is time to leave. Is a bit "big" on the back, where are most of the input/output connectors, but I'm starting to like this setup. No thermals issue ATM, no screen issues and when you need raw power the unit totally deliver. Fans are a bit noisy but is expected with this little nuclear reactor cpu.The only missing parts that i would like to have is the Thunderbolt 3 connector for possible eGPU in the future AND also a rear hatch to access hard disk and ram. Some benchmarks with ultra setting at Full HD:- COD Warzone: between 75 to 100 fps.- Borderlands 3: 60 - 90 fps- Ghost Recon Wildlands: 85 fps average.- Forza Horizon 4: 100 fps or even more.- Dirt Rally 2.0: is a very badly optimized game but usually something between 65 and 90 fps.- Windows and software performance is fast as you expect on this kind of configuration.I know UHD and 4k is the new way to play but for me FHD (1080p) is more than enough at this time of my life, would like to upgrade to some rtx 2070 or new 3000 series but for now is fine.
It's a steal considering what the hardware is ....honestly the world is in a console and gpu shortage and this beast offers next generation capabilities ....like ray tracing and 60+fps .......not to mention xbox game pass and steam .....also folks if your thinking well that's a small screen .....ok I get it buy two more things and you're good a wireless keyboard and mouse combo and the wireless adapter for your controller of your choosing and bam...put the laptop in place of your console and remove its hdmi cord and plug it into the laptop and return to your chair because the gaming gods are about to smile upon you my friends ....
Solid laptop for the price. I am an engineer and was long overdue for an upgrade. I needed something smaller and lighter than my workstation laptop. I had been eying up thinkpad laptops for the industry leading keyboard feel, but the price for one with a workstation level or gaming level graphics card seemed extremely high. I use Fusion 360 and solidworks daily, so I have some conflicting requirements. Fusion plays better on a gaming graphics card and solidworks prefers a workstation card. I can say, without a doubt, the rtx2060 handles solidworks fantastically. Great benchmarks, no problem running high display quality in either program, and totally blown away at how much better this little laptop performs over my older workstation and gaming desktops, as well as my older workstation laptop. The ryzen processor is blazing fast. It ate up benchmarks landing in the top 10th percentile at nearly half the cost of the laptops that beat it. Sure I would have loved a rtx 30 series, but not for an extra 1000 dollars. For purely engineering work, 32gb of ram will most likely be necessary, and I already added a second 1tb m2 drive, and I am eying up the 80wh battery upgrade for the few times i get stuck doing field work and may not have a plug available. I havent tested total battery life, but I would expect 2-3 tops doing my normal work. For the price. Unbelievable value and performance.

This computer is fast, handled graphics for gaming and design, multimedia development. Small but fierce capable laptop.
The packaging space is not filled up, which makes the computer easy to collide during transportation. It is not professionally packed!
I really like this computer. It is powerful and can run programs I could never run on my previous laptop. Just two main complaints...it does not come with a built in camera...that one is my fault as I should have read the details more closely but cameras are such standard issue that i did not bother to search that one out...second, the keys are nearly impossible to read at certain angles...it's like they purposively sat down and determined angles at which the markings on the keys would just disappear...it is not horrible as I am a touch key typist, but there are times I need to read the keyboard and this laptop is just not very friendly on that aspect...great computer otherwise...haha

I have had this computer for about a year, using it all day every work day. In general, its technical performance has been very good (better I would say than the many MacBook Airs I owned before). It handles many large applications and browser windows being open at once.I have come to appreciate the textured surface around the keyboard. It has worn well, despite my concerns when I bought it.The biggest weakness, and it's a big one, is battery life. I'm lucky to get 3-4 hours on any charge, which keeps me plugged in most the time. This is not truly a portable machine. At this point, I'm also concerned about the durability of the case -- just realized that two of the rubber feet on which the laptop sits have broken off, so now it doesn't sit evenly. That's pretty poor workmanship.
IT guy here, I work in a school district as a computer specialist. I deal with many of the large brands of computer manufacturers on a daily basis. I see the common problems devices have and have gained understanding over the time of being a computer specialist not all products ship out perfectly. At some point in my life, I have had an experience using and working with every major computer manufacturing brand. I settled on this device because it appeared to have quality in both its design, components used, and finish. I was not disappointed. I should also note that I also own a Surface Pro 6. The Surface lineup by Microsoft does not disappoint, and if they continue to design products that poured care into like these devices I will continue to exclusively own these products. The only thing that could possibly be improved on this device is the trackpad, and by being improved doing what those fruit guys do where you can click the trackpad anywhere and it clicks. Happy with my purchase, the full metal body is significantly more premium feeling than having a plastic laptop.
Its been a month since I bought this laptop.Liked:-Lightweight-Excellent Keyboard-Good speakers-i7 and 16 gb make it super fast for loading apps and multitaskingDislikes:- Saw reports of people having issues with a cracked screen (hopefully microsoft will fix for free)- Screen size is just 13.5, a little small- No thunderbot 3 port.-Not so good battery lifeI would recommend a macbook instead, or the surface book 3.
