Goodday fellow Steemer. New function roll out at SteemIt. One of those is the payout choice, either full in Steem Power, 50 - 50 or decline. For this one I'll use the last one.
This will keep this post out off the reward division pool. In effect leaving whatever it could have made to others. And there are more new features. Like account verification.
So this is my first with declined payout. :-)
what happens when you decline? does it give you any special powers?

It only arranges that your potential payout will stay at zero. It is just that. Sometimes members chose to do so. The potential payout then will stay in the reward pool. For others to gain potential payout from.

Ah, so it's the special power of being a good person...just like Superman. Thanks for the explanation.
I like this feature. Yes — sometimes I do have something to say, just for the sake of saying it — it has its uses! Like today, for instance.

It still shows 'Potential Payout', that could imply that the curators still would get payed? Now that would be contradictive to the 'Decline Payout'.
Want to dig a little deeper into this matter. Also comments on a 'Decline Payout' post seem to payout. So I settle with that it is still in 'Beta' for now.

The pay me 100% SP option, was never available for comments, either.

Just voted for my own post that Declines Payout, wonder if I still get part of the curation. And if that will be 100%, instead of 20% curation reward.
And where does the other 80% then go to?
Questions, questions, questions...
That is inconsistent too I think, a reply is a post, so, there should be the same choices, I guess.
Well, SteemIt is still in Beta, also meaning room for ongoing improvement.

So what exactly happened after this post I know it's been a year but I am curious as to what the function actually does.

It works like it should. Decline payout means the potential reward stays in the pool.
The replies get payout like normal.
It is being used quite often.

Hello, I just made my first test posts(actually DTube uploads) and I was wondering how to select decline payout option after I've uploaded the post? I didn't see such an option on DTube.

Some apps build on the Steem blockchain do get a part of the payout. That way they finance their service. These services support 50/50 and/or 100 SP payout. As far as to my knowledge Dtube works that way.

Trying again. There are two fields in settings which control payouts. One for posts and another for comments.
Once again, DO NOT vote for this comment please.
