Beyond Bitcoin hangouts enable everyone's voice to be heard--Steemit lets the community vote on our Top Guests!
I have decided to extend this trial run for announcing hangouts in a way that gives everyone an incentive to promote our events and themselves, their projects and alliances that germinate in this very hangout community. So until further notice if you want to be covered in beyond bitcoin hangouts in any serious way, we will be asking for you to upvote this post, RSVP and give upvotes to other projects/topics you find valuable.
How to get Coverage of your Project: Leverage Your Community!
Post to this and future Hangout Announcements telling us if you are going to be there and what project/topic you would like to cover with the Beyond Bitcoin Community. The highest voted project/topics at the start of the hangout every Friday @ 10am EST will be covered first, followed 2nd highest, 3rd highest...etc in sequence from highest to lowest.
How much time will we have?
Hangouts will be at least 45 minutes long, but depending on attendance and projects/topics to be covered may last up to 2 hours. Given this, we will try to be as flexible with guest speakers as possible, but will be forced to limit the number covered in any hangout to 5. This should enable us to at least let people speak/take questions for 25-30 minutes each.
Is coverage all I get?
No. You also get the opportunity to post links relevant to your projects, steemit posts/updates about your project and have those links posted to soundcloud and the steemit thread where the hangout is posted.
We might even be willing to promote good projects we cover on twitter and steemit!
Is any topic off Limits?
Yes. We reserve the right to learn from the newest trickster trolling steemit consistently searching for way to insert chaos into the equation and devise future strategies for negating these. Naturally if these efforts become ham-fisted attempts at shutting down free speech in honest conversations, the audience will hold us accountable.
But with that said....pretty much anything can be covered--even up to and including current events. However, I personally will only be voting up stories that touch the blockchain in some way shape or form and will be asking the community to downvote absolute Rubbish! ;)
#Peerplays Update
Datasecuritynode and CryptoPrometheus will be giving the update
Please introduce this as the Peerplays Project.

@cm-steem from the #Gridcoin community registering intent to attend episode #173!
I intend to make a continued appeal to active witnesses to publish price feeds for the 'GRIDCOIN' Market Pegged Asset as well as discussing recent Gridcoin related news.
Thanks for holding these hangouts, @officialfuzzy :)
Best regards,
CM.

I hope to talk about how communities could be more constructive than resorting to bashing techniques in order to preserve their marketshare.
I'll be talking about how waves of exaggeration and half-truths doesn't help any of us.
If it sounds weird, I'll explain on the show if I get voted up.
I will use examples, like Casper, Ethereum, Peercoin, Proof of Stake, mathematics, and I promise not to bore anyone. It's all based on blockchain stuff and cryptocurrency in general.

Hi and thanks for hosting these. I was invited by @brindleswan to discuss a recent post I made on the "n squared" voting power function and it's effects https://steemit.com/steempower/@nonlinearone/your-votes-don-t-matter-back-of-the-envelope-steem-power-madness-calculations

as a matter of fact, I love the idea of proof of work cryptos that reward work that benefits society in addition to simply securing the network. are you a big foldingcoin community member?

Ill take a look at this seems like a good idea. Just a small question why mumble? Why not teamspeak or discord?

Mumble is open source.

I am not interested in necessarily advocating for or against mumble (though n25 is correct on why it was chosen). What interests me more is that I will be able to bring upwards of 3200 people onto this server at any given time in the future as more people and communities join the movement.
To me the tool is not as important as the community using it. :)
But in the case that someone wants to use the mumble server for their own crypto projects, feel free to let me know! I like to upvote hangouts of all kinds :)

Actually, I'll advocate for Mumble.
Mumble is the only open source thing that does what it does. Therefore, it's the only equivalent thingey that SW devs can build on and make communities out of. Therefore, it's the best possible thing for the job.

I enjoyed the show last week @officialfuzzy and appreciate your efforts to get some documentation going. We have a project (www.decibel.live) that will send a large amount of data to the blockchain, hence are attracted to Graphene for the speed & low cost. However we need a limited amount of smart contract functionality and I've found the developer documentation weak. So much so that I posted a thread of Bitsharestalk to try and get opinions on how it could be done. Even still the info at best is basic and there needs to be documentation to support a developer eco-system. For the record I'm not a developer myself but this is where the gap is in the documentation. I'm reasonably computer literate and didn't find it to difficult using the Bitshares wallet so documentation effort is not required there, some simple videos would suffice. Definately need more development documentation though!
