Buthidaung: Different Burmese officials including Border Guard Police (BGP), started conducting illegal checks to extort money, at different villages of Buthidaung Township on 6th June 2018, report sources.
BGPs from different village tracks, started illegal checks on several main roads of northern Buthidaung Township, where they are harassing Rohingya and extorting money for travel permit.

Authorities' harassment and barbaric activities have also reached Kiyan dong (Kyaung Taung) village track. There Rohingya villagers are forced to cook and serve meal to a newly appointed sectarian officer at sector no. 23, with the help of a local sycophant.
The same sycophant from the area uses the fear and power of Burmese authority, to harass and extort money from Rohingya on daily basis. In those areas, people are either forced to pay money for travel permit, home renovation, or even in selling and buying their own properties.
Burmese authorities’ fearful activities have reached its peak in those areas, where people are living in a situation of panic.

Rohingya Crises:
Burmese government’s genocidal operation and pre-planned attack since October, 2016 on Rohingya have pushed more than 1 million Rohingya to neighboring Bangladesh in makeshift camp of Cox’s Bazar. Now horrors of their past memory in their land and lingering condition in those over crowded camps have left Rohingya in limbo and are hopelessly living in ghettos.
