When you google "Does the Bible say Earth is flat?" you'll see the entire first page of results is covered in links to Christian apologetics ministries assuring readers that the Bible says no such thing, even though qualified historians and scholars of ancient civilizations disagree, as I showed in the last article.
These apologists express consternation and dismay that the "myth" of the Bible describing a flat Earth persists. Relying of course on Christians never actually reading their Bibles, or they would discover that it persists because the Bible does indeed describe a flat earth covered by a solid dome.
A common objection is that the literal, explicit phrase "The Earth is flat" does not appear in scripture. But for the same reason you won't find an explicit affirmation that the Earth is spherical in most books not dedicated to the topic: It's taken for granted, as something so obvious that it does not need saying.
Nevertheless, there are plentiful verses which make matter-of-fact references to elements of ancient Hebrew cosmology such as the firmament, the pillars of the Earth, sheol, the storehouses for snow and hail, and the sun being small enough to set someplace on Earth:
Ecclesiastes 1:5
"The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises."
Does the sun really have a specific location it rises from, which it hurries back to after setting? Besides assuming the Earth is stationary and that it is instead the sun which moves, this verse bears a close resemblance to a passage from the Qur'an:
Al-Kahf: 86
“Till, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and found a people thereabout: We said: O Zul Qarnain! Either punish or show them kindness.”
It was evidently a shared belief of the authors of the Torah and the Qur'an that the sun is dramatically smaller than the Earth (which it appears to be from ground level on Earth, if you don't know any better) and that there's a designated place on Earth it returns to at night.
This made sense to people who assumed Earth, the sun and so forth were all designed. That the Earth was constructed by Yahweh as a habitat for humans, and that the sun, moon, and weather are all functions of the habitat intended to serve purposes related to supporting human life.
For that reason, it is assumed in scripture that there exist storehouses for snow and hail. A sensible assumption if one believes Earth is artificial:
John 38:22-23
“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail, which I reserve for times of trouble, for days of war and battle?
The video I'll be presenting today explores this theme further. It examines verses describing a vast ocean beneath the Earth, which can be seen in both ancient and modern illustrations of Hebrew cosmology:
The abyss of the waters, also sometimes referred to as the primeval ocean or "The deep" was thought to be an endless dark, watery expanse. This ocean was referred to in Genesis as the starting condition for creation:
Genesis 1:1-2
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [a]was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters."
It then immediately references the creation of the firmament, which holds out the waters above, keeping them separated from the waters below:
Genesis 1: 6-8
"Then God said, “Let there be a [c]firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day."
This is consistent with the assumptions we might expect from ancient people who had no idea what space is. It has been argued that the firmament is poetic language for the atmosphere, but then is there an ocean outside the atmosphere which it holds up?
Later in Genesis, it refers to gates in the firmament which were opened to allow the waters above through, causing the great flood:
Genesis 7:11
"In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened."
But as you can see, it also refers to "fountains of the deep" bursting open, as a secondary source of flood water. The video below discusses both this, the abyssal ocean of Genesis and more:
Stay Tuned for Part 4!
If you think about it, it looks like it.

It's hard to believe people still think the earth is flat but I personally know a few that do. They don't listen to the evidence and are very set in their way of thinking.

In the world, there are many doubts with all the different philosophies of life; be they Eastern or Western. Buddhism, Mormons, Christians, Islamists.... All converge on something in common: "to do good to earn eternal life". Is this the idea that moves us?
In Christianity, several books that were originally part of the Bible were also removed; 14 in total are called the "Gospels of the Apocrypha", the Catholic Church calls them the "Forbidden Gospels" and the Evangelicals call them the "Gospels of the Devil".
Further research revealed that the number of forbidden books is approximately 250, books to which no Christians currently have access. It is unfair to hide such a large amount of information about Christ, if you have a current Bible, the New Testament only has 27 books, that is, we know a small part of what the first Christians wrote about Christ and surely most or all of the teachings that Christ left us do not know, only for the interests of some who believe they are the owners and defenders of the faith.
Over the years, the same man has been in charge of devaluing the real ones, modifying and interpreting content. No one will be right about the facts, because the mouth of millions of years ago and the culture of the time were totally different from modern times.

"A common objection is that the literal, explicit phrase 'The Earth is flat' does not appear in scripture." Yeah that is pretty weak as far as ways to try to run from the inconvenient parts of the story go. I can't remember where it appears but I also recall a bible story in which the sun stops in the sky which suggests that the author believes that the sun is in motion instead of the earth.

Dear @alexbeyman,
A planet's gravity pulls equally from all sides. Gravity pulls from the center to the edges like the spokes of a bicycle wheel. This makes the overall shape of a planet a sphere, which is a three-dimensional circle.
This is also the reason stars are balls (spheres) of plasma (very hot gas) consisting of hydrogen and helium.
The first line of Isaiah 40:22 reads, “It is he [God] who sits above the circle of the earth.” Some have argued from this that Scripture teaches the earth to be a flat disc, rather than a globe. However, even if the original Hebrew is correctly understood to refer to a circle, this doesn’t necessarily indicate something flat; a sphere appears as a circle when seen from above—and indeed from whatever direction it is viewed.
Job 26:7 which states that God “hangs the earth on nothing.” This verse expresses (in a poetic way) the fact that the earth is unsupported by any other object—something quite unnatural for the ancient writers to imagine. Indeed, the earth does float in space. We now have pictures of the earth taken from space that show it floating in the cosmic void. The earth literally hangs on nothing, just as the Bible teaches.
Shalom, Steven Sherman @lastdays

I know that. I'm not a flat Earther. I am arguing against flat earthism. I thought that was clear from the content of the article.
This argument was already addressed in part 2 of this series. Proverbs 2:27 says "When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep"
The KJV says it was done as with a compass: "When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth"
It's pretty clear what is being described here is the act of drawing a 2D circle on a flat surface (the deep).
Not really, since elsewhere in scripture the abyss is said to consist of a dark, formless primeval ocean as described in the article you've commented on.
It is dishonest to view only one or two verses in isolation from all other verses describing cosmology just because it's possible to interpret them in a way that supports your position.
All of the verses about cosmology found in scripture, taken together, very plainly describe what all serious scholars and historians agree that the ancient Hebrews believed about the shape of the Earth. You can google "Biblical cosmology", "Hebrew cosmology" or "ancient Israelite cosmology" and find thousands of sources that will tell you the same things I have. The only sources which will disagree are all Christian apologetics ministries, because it's their job to defend the Bible.

Dear @alexbeyman,
I am sorry for the miscommunication on my part.
When I wrote, "The fact that the earth is unsupported by any other object—something quite unnatural for the ancient writers to imagine."
I should have qualified that the truths about the shape of the earth and the void of outer space found in the Bible are evidences of divine inspiration.
Blessings, Steven @lastdays

I understand this is what you meant, but you're ignoring everything it got wrong. If I make 100 guesses, and get 98 wrong but 2 right, is that evidence I am divinely inspired?
By the by, may I take it from your name that you believe we're living in the last days the Bible speaks of? If so, I have an article you should read.

I wasn't expecting a part 3 tho..but here it is. It looks like the flat-earth proponents are in trouble- Alex has made consistent reference to the Bible to refute their notions 😂

No, it's the opposite. I have shown the Bible does say Earth is flat and covered with a solid dome.

Round. I am not a Christian. That's probably the source of your confusion. I think the Bible says many provably untrue things because Christianity is false.

I don't think it's my opinion that the Bible describes the cosmology ancient Hebrews believed in. If you google image search "Ancient Hebrew cosmology" you will see it's a flat earth covered by a dome. You can find the verses and read them yourself.
