The book of Job is the story of the actions of divine Providence in the life of a character named Job.
The book has its unique theme that differentiates it from the other books of wisdom and proverbs in the old testament.
The book is about the following:
*the utility of human wisdom
*the providence
*the theory of retribution and the reach of divine laws
*the importance of the piety or fear of the lord
Job is a devout man of God. In the Old Testament the concept of faith does not exist, there is no creed to accept. The relationship with God is direct, he communicates with men through oracles and prophets.
In the bible, Job's devotion is proved by the accusing angel.
Job was a prosperous man who endures a series of misfortunes and together with three friends who come to visit him develop a series of dialogues.
The book is a confrontation between the classical wisdom that comes from the books of proverbs and wisdom against divine providence: how can it be that sin prosper and the righteous suffer?
In the book of Job, wisdom as a science submits to theology and therefore to providence.
At the end of the dialogues, God appears before Job and makes him understand that human wisdom is not enough to understand the mysteries of creation and divine providence, Job realize his mistake and the test on Job ends, and Job's piety (devotion, constancy, firmness, ecuanimity, stability) is rewarded by God. Thus fulfilling the theory of retribution: "you will reap your sowing".

The deepest spiritual message in the book of Job is that while wisdom is insufficient in the face of providence, God cannot go against his own bliss, that is, the divine laws guide his actions in the long term, establishing awards and punishments.
