@gail-brown-hill - welcome!
Day 1 here, brand new, and you have already found my comments and upvoted them. Thank you!
If you read my early posts, you might want to read more of the later ones.

Have a blessed day!

Alrighty, I found you and following you

I think it was you who said on one of my comments that I have been flagged and to look at your posts to find out "the rules." Or something to that effect. I'm in trouble just for commenting on an unapproved post? I liked one of your other comments, and I'll try to get time to check out the posts to which you referred. Sorry, but so far this platform is sounding censored to me.

on https://steemd.com/@gail-brown-hill:

pakoman downvote @gail-brown-hill/re-pommesfrites-steemit-is-the-ne… (-100%)

It is the Wild Wild West - just stay away from trouble.

It is not censorship - but, there are a few people that enjoys flagging each other.

This is like a shoot-out if you retaliate and start a dual.

By the way, thank you for upvoting my post (I think? lol...I'm a total newby and really don't understand much yet). I also looked at your page and could not find any posts about the rules. Is there a way I can search your posts to find them?

Yes, click on the user name and click on the name or icon in the popup or:
https://steemit.com/@gail-brown-hill
or for me:
https://steemd.com/@freedomshift shows all my stats and activities as well as others on my posts or comments.
Click on my Blog or Comments to see what I posted. Click on replies to see what others said in return.
Click on my Wallet tab to see it.
Since this is on the blockchain - all activities are permanent - deleting will only show that as an action bot not really delete it from the records.
I have posted, commented, and resteemed many useful tips and rules to help others to grow.
The reputation score is like a badge of honor - not power. SP is the true power:
https://steemnow.com/@freedomshift => $0.13 for my 100% upvote.
Please read my early posts to see what I am all about!
I am here to encourage ... help ...

Thank you! I'll check them out.

@gail-brown-hill - I saw that you upvoted my post - the first which is 19 days old at the time.
Thank you!
However, it is good to read the FAQ as well as posts regarding upvotes, SP and regeneration, etc. to properly manage this limited but valuable asset - your votes.

votes - upvote or downvote does two things

  • impact on reputation (all new members start at 25 and votes from those with higher reputation score will cumulatively increase yours when they upvote on your posts or comments)
  • based on the SP from the upvote, it rewards the post or comment with the associated SP (new members have very little to give in SP or $ - I have invested $ to buy Steem and Power Up, so, my votes are worth $0.13 @ 100% - your vote does not really pay - see https://steemnow.com/@gail-brown-hill)

Just like most, if not all, new steemians, I voted too much and depleted my votes and also commented and posted too much and exhausted my bandwidth (https://steemd.com/@gail-brown-hill << see it here). Both regenerates, so, it is important to monitor and understand what remains.

I hope this helps you and all new members.
All the best!

Thank you very much. The link says I have 97% of my bandwidth remaining (after 3 days). How often does it regenerate? Is there a way I can get back to that chart in the future other than digging up this comment to find the link? I'm assuming that as I post, comment, obtain votes that my votes will gradually become worth more? is this true? Thanks for the help!

Remember this - this is a platform / environment that do not have central control and we are all responsible for our own journey here. The best things to do have been posted in my blogs as well as in those that I resteemed.
Read them and the FAQ - we all need to do that sooner or later.
