There are many scriptures that reference LIGHT (אור) in the Hebrew.
I am going to show you the connections I have found between these scriptures. To show you that The Most High speaks in a pattern, from beginning to end. The LIGHT is one of many metaphysical representations The Almighty uses for himself.
John 1:1-5
1 IN THE BEGINNING the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2 He existed in the beginning with God.
3 God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
4 The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
5 The LIGHT shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.
what is this LIGHT that John is referring to? and why do we see it repeated so many times throughout scripture?
lets go back to THE BEGINNING.
Genesis 1:1-5
1 IN THE BEGINNING God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be LIGHT,” and there was LIGHT. 4 And God saw that the LIGHT was good. Then he separated the LIGHT from the darkness. 5 God called the LIGHT “day” and the darkness “night.”
And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day.
In John 1 we are told that the word existed IN THE BEGINNING with God, and in Genesis the first WORDS God said was "Let there be LIGHT." What was this light? the sun? The Messiah? God himself? or a combination of all?
There are many referenced to YHWH being The LIGHT, and the Messiah being the LIGHT.
[ Psalm 27 ] [ A psalm of David. ] YHWH is my LIGHT and my salvation— so why should I be afraid?
2 Samuel 22:29 O YHWH, you are my lamp. YHWH lights up my darkness.
Job 25:3 Who is able to count his heavenly army? Doesn’t his LIGHT shine on all the earth?
Psalms 36:9 For you are the fountain of life, the LIGHT by which we see.
John 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the LIGHT of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the LIGHT that leads to life.”
Psalm 56:13 For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving LIGHT.
These are just some examples of many comparisons using LIGHT to represent The Most High & to The Messiah, which are one Being, [One Life-Giving Light].
The Word is filled with powerful allegorical words such as these to best describe The ALMIGHTY one.
