I've recently visited Israel, Palestina and Jordan and will share here some pictures from Biblical places related to our Savior Jesus Christ and some other major Biblical characters and events. I hope you will enjoy it. Let's begin in Betlehem and on the picture below you can see Church of Nativity, traditional place that is considered to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ located in the center of the town.

Betlehem

  • meaning: house of bread, also known as City of David
  • original name: Ephrath, or Beth-lehem Ephratah
  • location: Judea, 7km south from Jerusalem
  • importance: Yahoshua (Jesus) was born here and also kings Saul and David were born here

Old Testament

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
-- Micah 5:2 (KJV)

New Testament

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
-- Matthew 1:2 (KJV)
