You could get yourself a nice handlebar bag for your bike. They are ideal for protecting your camera while keeping it accessible. I like the ones from Velo Orange, or you can go for Gilles Berthoud if you are real fancy.

    I got a milk crate and zip tied it to the rack... that's how fancy I am.
