What kind of problems are you talking about @themarkymark?

I'm pretty confidend that I wrote the code for @smartsteem well enough to handle diverse refunds - additionally bottracker is using my own written bid-api. But this doesn't matter I guess, if there is some problem in the bottrackers code.

So, interested in what the problems are.

Post Promoter bot software has a price feed that helps for bot owners who accept both steem & sbd. It is used by both the Bot Tracker Site as well as his Post Promoter bot. The site hosting the price feed kept going down which was causing the Bot Tracking Site to no longer adjust for the current price of Steem/SBD and to properly calculate credits for bots that use both Steem/SBD.

In my situation, I was using his bot software but I only accepted SBD but when the price feed is down, it would crash the bot and cause it to restart. Since it checks for prices every minute, it was crashing every minute. When the bot got to 100%, it would vote but once the price feed was checked, it would crash and stop voting, it would then start sleeping again and it was causing users to get $18 votes for $0.50 and other users not to get a vote.

I took a nap for a few hours and let the first two windows finish for @Ipromote and when I got up to check , I noticed it was happening and shut it off and manually refunded anyone who didn't get a vote. The two users who got $18 votes for $0.50 there isn't anything I could do but I don't see them complaining.

A lot of the new bots use this bot software which I was testing out on a new smaller bot before moving over @buildawhale (which I am glad I did test it with less SP).

Oh I see. Thank you, @themarkymark for your detailed explanation!

I made two bids, second bid for 1 SBD. I didn't get refund back.

You got a vote, there was just no comment

Thank you, I have been goofing around with Steem Bot Tracker. Why do the vote value amounts vary so much? I thought they were mainly driven by delegated STEEM? But I guess that changes a lot too (when I say "vote value" I mean the first column Bot Tracker lists, which seems to be the total available for payout).

The first column shows the 100% recharged vote value, so you know the potential maximum vote. It then shows the current profitable bid based on STEEM/SBD prices and how much people have bid so far while factoring 25% curation cut. The problem was the STEEM/SBD pricing was not working so the numbers were off.

What you are most interested in is checking how many votes are in the queue, when it will vote next, and how much profitability is left. Bots are not cash registers but are for promotion, but most everyone just cares about how much room is left for instant profitability.

check and check ... but why was the recharged vote value 4x different from this morning to now? ty

I believe that first column is what that account's vote is worth at 100%.

Ok, so then that is the total available basically, as it resets a full upvote every 2.4 hours (for most of these).

yup that sounds right to me!

i overbid buildawhale this morning

ouch! Well at least you know what to do now. Be safe out there <3

like now the "vote value" of buildawhale is nearly $4K while last time it was less than $1K, it's 4x higher

yes! I am in the middle of a post about my experiences with vote bidding as we speak. I love the bots with huge monetary values. :D

How can I use this bot?

To receive an upvote from @buildawhale all you need to do is send at least 2SBD to the account and place the post you want upvoted in the memo:

how-to-use-buildawhale.png

Good, how many posts will he upvote and how many days will the 2sbd last

That is for one upvote on the one post you sent the bot and only for that day.

Upto how many $

i don't think there is a limit. The upvote they give has a limit but that is only if you grab 100% of the upvote.

how can I see the power that the whale has at that moment before giving it the SBD?

Steemnow.com, steemworld.org, or steemd.com

You can use steemd.com/@account-name-here

Thanks for the heads up! I'm partial to @randowhale but am looking to diversify my bot portfolio, what are the top 5 bots on steemit in your opinion?

What percenrage return have you been getting?

I have tested @buildawhale and a few other bid bots. The percentage you get is based on the amount you bid. I have used an algorithm to calculate profitability, and have gotten 10-65% profitability with different bid bots. These profitabilities depend highly on the individual 2.4 hour bid windows, and it is possible to lose money at no fault of the bot in an overbid bidding window.

I have always had positive responses, support and feedback with @buildawhale.

That said, I suggested that theMarkyMark would suggest BuildaWhale as an answer to your original question, since it is his baby.

And the other 4 out of 5 would be?

I'll let you figure that one out.

Figure out what your opinion is? Lmao

No, I just don't want to toot my own horn or show favoritism to any other competitor or ignore another.

I haven't used any of these bots because I have nothing to give them... 😵

You have saved my ass, I have lost some good SBDs in the name of boosting my posts. I regularly check steem bot tracker, they got a new update and a nice interface though their system of late has been leaving me frustrated. Guess i will have to bet on buildawhale and upmyvote

Sorry but wont be of much help for a newbie like me .. :(

oops, so should I completely stop bidding on other bots, or what should I do... because they were my only rescue to get posts across the larger audience.

I’m sure things will get fixed shortly just something to keep an eye out for and I’m sure the bot owners will take care of it.

First bid 0.5 SBD and got only (5.23%) vote and next bid 1 USD , not refunded back

You received a vote for the 1 SBD, that's why you didn't get refunded. I gave you a portion of my personal vote as well to give you a better return as it looks like your vote is smaller than it should be due to the bot crashing.

Please check my bids also.

Thanks for the information. I haven't been using bots lately, but resteemed the post so hopefully more people can see.

i have great number of upvote Hello and welcome to the community. I followed you and would appreciate a follow back. I'm looking forward to see more posts! Have a great day and have fun. Welcome!

Please upvote, comment, resteem and follow @hubtechinfo

Very valuable information
Thank you my dear friend

Sorry. I'm a bit confused - maybe too new to understand the whole procedure. But why you are using a bot?

What's your benefit?

Thanks

AI taking over :/ jk it makes things less hassle for some tasks :)

Ok.. so you are getting more votes for it. Automatically votes? Notifications?

There are bots you can send SBD to, and get an upvote in return for a post of your choosing.

Ok..seem to get it. But isn't it in the end contradictory to the concept of STEEM that "real" people vote, which content is valuable - as this is also linked to your reputation. So if I pay a bot, I pay to highlight my content as valuable, even if it is crab?!

sure is!

Yep, this is what you are doing, but sometimes it would not be profitable to do so with a comment. And if it is that bad, some people will find it, think about it and eventually downvote(flag) it.

Think of it as promotion/advertising.
But yes, lots of people promote low effort garbage and is the most common content here.

I'm hoping Communities helps reduce that.

Ok.. Thank you all for the explanations. Still not worthy for me. But I see the additional value for promotion or to advertise a product/service

This is helpful and I will stick with it.. thanks

@themarkymark I have not yet received my first payout (6 days on Steemit) but have been reading enough posts to understand that there are two competing ideologies as regards to paid voting bots. There are people who flag posts with paid upvotes. I am really confused and not being able decide whether I should buy votes from services like @buildawhale once I start receiving my payouts.

Most of the people being flagged are abusing bots on shit content.

Ok, hope good content from a newbie is not flagged

If it is truly good content you should be fine, even spammers think their content is good though. But everyone on the platform has the ability to flag anyone else but it should be rare unless you are doing something wrong.

Yeah I understand what you mean
