Doesn’t anyone in the Biden administration see the irony in the waste of thousands of gallons of fuel to take him there for a photo op? Not to mention the tax dollars wasted (par for the course).
Let’s see what the Chief Inflator’s plan will do. Using the current average price of regular, the number of miles I drive a week, the combined miles per gallon my vehicle gets and factoring in the 10 cent reduction in price E15 gives consumers and the corresponding reduction in fuel economy (about 2% less than E10), me as the average person could save a total of 19 cents a week. Over a year, I could save about $10. Wow - way to go Joe!
National average gas price (E10)
$4.083
If E15 costs 10 cents a gallon less
$3.983
Miles driven in a week
300
Miles per gallon with E10
30
Miles per gallon with E15
29.4
Cost of weekly miles with E10
$ 40.83
Cost of weekly miles with E15
$ 40.64
Instead of fattening the wallets of a special interest whose product should compete in the market instead of being forced on consumers, how about spending less and not creating funny money? That’s a plan to reduce inflation.
Did the math - if I could get E0 and it cost 10 cents more a gallon and figuring in the additional 3% miles I could get from a gallon, I could save 22 cents a week compared to E10.
My plan - remove the corn from gas and we go farther for less money.
