I am really getting sick of this whole bowing and kneeling before cry bullies crap.
We're Americans. We stand up and face our challenges; not constantly coddle those who refuse to grow up.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am not saying there aren't times to kneel. I kneel before Christ. I try to kneel as Christ did, poor in spirit before the poor I serve and try to help. I metaphorically kneel at the feet of my masters: I attempt to be exceedingly humble before my mentors so that I too may master the fields of knowledge they are imparting. And I chivalrously kneel before the eternal feminine as any would-be knight should.
But this constant kneeling for political purposes, as a way of validating some political viewpoint, or worse, sacralizing some ideology by bowing before it, is just degrading to one's own dignity and an embarrassment to our country when our leaders do it. And frankly, most of us see through the showy gesture to what it really is; a cynical ploy of pandering to people who are desperate to feel important in order to obtain more power for oneself.
