Here's a big reason why:
I know it's early; but, my Bills were supposed to be in a rebuild this season. We lost our top receiver in the off-season. We lost possibly the best safety duo in football this off-season. We lost a Pro Bowl center this off-season. The Dolphins were favored to win on Thursday, and we beat the snot out of them. The Dolphins were considered to be Super Bowl contenders before the beat down and Tua's injury.
The Bills are doing this with a $31 million dead cap hit from the Diggs trade.
That means that, on top of the expected extra cap space that comes to every team every season aside from the Covid year, the Bills are gonna have an extra $31 million to pay to retain talent and pay new talent.
This is a Bills team that was supposed to lack talent because of the "albatross" of the Diggs contract.
So-far, we're looking good. Even if we don't win it all this year, we're looking up in almost every way.
