Brock Pierce, the creator of the Bitcoin Foundation, is one of the most well-known bitcoin personalities. But with his latest incarceration, he claims he's still determined to making Cryptocurrencies a success.
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Pierce revealed that he's been working on an alternative money called Bolivar (named after Simon Bolivar). The initiative is still in its nascent stages, but it will enable consumers to move money across boundaries without any fees or bank middlemen.
Pierce added that he expects that Bitcoin might be about $20,000 per unit by 2020 — before adding that this could be too conservative. He further stated that there are more than 3 million individuals throughout the globe who hold at least 1 bitcoin as well as there were only hundred million individuals using credit cards at any one moment last year.
The 46-year-old tycoon was detained last month on suspicions of operating an unauthorised money transmission company and conducting an unlawful pyramid scheme utilising cryptocurrency. He was freed on bail but forced to forfeit his passport and submit to authorities frequently for surveillance reasons.
