The Binance cryptocurrency exchange has become a member of the newly created expert center on digital financial assets and digital currencies of the Association of Banks of Russia (ADB), Kommersant reports.
Binance participates in the organization through its BN KZ Technologies Limited division. Olga Goncharova, Binance's GR Director in Russia and the CIS, was appointed head of the expert center, who joined the exchange in January after leading the Bank of Russia's reporting collection and processing department for seven years.
Binance reported that the expert council was created to form professional opinions on the turnover of cryptocurrencies, provide the ADB with relevant materials and apply international experience. ADB President Georgy Luntovsky noted that Goncharova has "big plans to conduct an examination of the turnover of digital currencies, organize events on this topic."
On February 17, the ADB held a round table on the topic of recovery of cryptocurrency assets. Evgeny Shevlyakov, head of the Risk Assessment Department of Rosfinmonitoring, said that the key factor for detecting digital assets is the readiness of the market to legalize its work. He also stated that a number of exchanges are ready to work openly and for this he initiated the creation of a code, which is being discussed with Rosfinmonitoring.
Alexey Yakovlev, Deputy Director of the Financial Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance, said that more than 17 million unique users from the Russian Federation have been identified on Binance – more than 10% of the country's population.
