Ketosis is the metabolic state in which your body predominantly uses fatty acids and ketone bodies for energy production.
This can naturally happen when you fast for longer periods of time or when you follow a ketogenic diet. Ketosis is not to be confounded with keto-acidosis, a condition in which the level of ketones in circulation is far greater than in ketosis. Keto-acidosis mostly happen in people who suffer from Type 1 Diabetes.

I use this program 3 months out of the year to lose weight, and to keep my body fat low. Works great, just remember to just drink water only, year round to keep the fat off.
