Hello, a biography

Hello. My name is Kara.
There’s so much I could tell you about myself...the predictable things like what I want to do with my life and where I’m going to school, and what my favorite color is. But you don’t know someone that way. So I’m going to tell you about the little things that make me, me.
I love fireflies and scrapbooking and the smell of Home Depot. I wish I could build and tinker with my hands the way my dad could. I want to make a treehouse for my kids one day.
I have thousands of pictures I’ll never print, born from hundreds of impromptu “I better take a picture of this just so I won’t forget it” because I have horrible memory problems.
I really should wear glasses, but I was bullied as a child and my classmates threw almonds at my glasses. I stopped wearing them.
I love camping until I get there and then my fear of bears keeps me awake all night.
I was never allowed to drink pop, but I think it’s better that way.
I watch documentaries and films about dark periods in history to satisfy some weird craving for bravery in the midst of horrific tragedy.
I’m double jointed and have a fantastic time dealing with my body when it gets cold.
I want to adopt children from Russia so they can be a better dancer than me.
I had to get a root canal at age 20 because I bit into a cookie wrong and sliced off a sliver of my tooth.
I love writing, film, singing, dancing, piano, and photography and often get depressed about how little time I have to practice my art that I don’t practice my art and get depressed that I’m not good enough.
I’m really not scared of the dentist.
I’m preschool none of the teachers helped me find the bathroom at recess so I cried until I peed my pants. I don’t like being far away from a bathroom now.
I have never lost a pet to natural causes, my parents sold them first. I have a strong desire to hold and love an animal through this passage, for closure and so they aren’t alone.
I was homeschooled my entire life, except for 1st grade when I was the youngest person in my school spelling bee and spelled the word “butterscotch” wrong. I hate butterscotch. I was homeschooled my entire life except for 8th grade when my grandpa went to jail and I began cutting myself. I met the girl who, 8 years later, became my girlfriend.
I love going to the fair but never riding the rides, just listening to the Native American music or eating the watermelon taffy.
I have a rule that i try every cinnamon roll I see.
I wish my feet were smaller.
I used to lay under my bed and see how long I could hide there, my imagination convinced that I needed to know how to quickly hide from bad guys like the Nazis.
I love candles and small dogs and all the Disney movies even the sad ones, and Panera coffee and thrift shopping on cloudy days to keep the depression away, and the way book pages feel under my finger pads, and the sound of waterfalls standing up close.
