An Ancient Species "Cockroach"

The cockroaches are an ancient group of insects from the order Blattodea. It has been passed about 320 million years from today. It has somekind of natural adaptation powr which makes it too old in this world. It has been seen so many events in this universe. But Alas! we can't reveal anything from them! Cockroaches have the chewing mouthparts which makes it's special adaptation power in nature which are likely among the most primitive of living neopteran insects. Cockroach can tolerate a wide range of adverse environments like Arctic cold and tropical heat. There are about 4600 species can be found in this world. About 30 species of them are associated with the human habitats and 4 species are known as the pests.

The name Cockroach comes from the Spanish word. "Cucaracha" is the origin word for the cockroach. The scientific name derives from the Latin blatta. Blatta means "an insect that shuns the light". Since the 19th century, according to an hypothesis, scientists believed that cockroaches were an ancient group of insects. And that ancient groupof insect had a Devonian origin. The relationship of roachoids and modern cockroaches remains disputed. A recent phylogenetic analysis shows that cockroaches originated at least in the Jurassic. Most of the cockroach species are about the size of a thumnail. But there are also several species which are in bigger size. Australian giant burrowing cockroach "Macropanesthia rhinoceros" is the world's most heaviest cockroach. The weight of this cockroch is about 30 g and the length is 9 cm. Cockroach has a relatively small head and a broad body. Most species are reddish-brown in color. An exceptional species with black-white color is being found in India. It's name is Domino cockroach or "Therea pentiveriana".

Now i am introducing some interesting facts related with cockroach.

1. Although cockroach is disgusting in taste, they are eaten in many places around the world.

2. In China, cockroaches are very popular as medicine and cockroach farming is increasing day by day.

3. The giant Madagascar hissing cockroach, Gromphadorhina portentosa is being raised as pets.

4. Cockroaches were the only survivors in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945!

5. In many cases, cockroaches are the reason to triggering asthma as well as other allergies!

6. Cockroaches can survive a week without a head!!

7. Cockrochs can run in super fast speed. Around 200 miles per hour!

8. Without some exceptions, cockroaches can't fly having a pair of wings.

9. Cockroaches can hold their breath around 40 minutes!

10. Cockroaches can survive for a month without any kinds of food.
