US aims for gas domination in Europe : Nord Stream 2 is 1st target, then existing European pipeline system

This suggestion is quite possibly true.
Its certainly along the lines that the US is no doubt thinking.

Previously i saw the struggle over Nord Stream 2 as part of the decision making of where the border between Eastern & Western Polarised World would materialise. I still wait to see whether this threshold will be between UK & Europe, or between Europe & Russia. The UK I have no doubt will obediently ally itself with its "Special Relationship" (USA).

If the East/West border stays UK side of Europe, Europe WILL HAVE to divorce itself from the West as much as possible. I suspect the American sanction aggression will merely be ramped up enough to "get the job done" : way more than is actually logical.

Actually none of the ridiculous sabre rattling is actually logical for whichever country is NOT America.
Any country actually giving in to the sabre rattling will regret it in the end... Because they're simply giving in to an imploding empire who cannot help anyone else, and certainly does not care about anyone else. Ergo American partners will pay the price of bowing to a crumbling, imploding entity, therefore American Partners will themselves crumble to the extent that they ignore their domestic realities & necessities.
I have have zero sympathy for them.

I'm also interested that Germany does not seem to have grasped the reality of the American aggression.
Germans cannot help but think in logical & practical terms. Something completely foreign to DC. Berlin still finds itself bowing to DC.... offering LPG investment in return for leaving Nord Stream 2 alone. A move I can only describe as naive.
I wait to see how fast Berlin learns its lesson of Either Bow to DC, or Fight/Divorce DC.

I sense an extended period of struggle between DC & Berlin as Berlin takes time to understand how to deal with DC.

I am heartened by what I hear between Berlin & German business. When Berlin tried to suggest caving in on Nord Stream, business leaders responded strongly, scolding Berlin for disobedience.
Both German & Austrian energy companies are invested & relying on Nord Steam. Berlin cannot just "make a political decision to play games". German business will not allow games with their economy.

The logical conclusion is that Berlin will need to LEARN that they need to DIVORCE from DC, and learn how to do it. That will be a huge & painful decision for Berlin, thus they will probably need an extended period of time to reach needed decisions.

If Berlin does learn to block & divorce from DC, Germanys future will be brighter. They may even learn the need for pivoting east to cater to domestic security & longevity.
