Yesterdays bird photography trip in Upper Austria

Yesterday I visited several places here in Upper Austria for some bird photography together with Stefan. We looked for birds on fields, grasslands and on river shores and small ponds that can be found in the central part of Upper Austria. On the Fields we found several Lapwings that prepare their nesting places here on meadows and fields. I like the Lapwings very much because it is possible to really get close to these birds.

The ruff (Calidris pugnax) is a medium-sized wading bird that breeds in marshes and wet meadows across northern Eurasia. Yesterday they rested on a small and temporary watering place that only exists when there is a lot of rain or when it recently rained and the water didn't dry up fast enough. But for these birds this is already enough to look for some small insects in the shallow water before they fly to their northern habitats.
