I helped a pigeon

So today I didn't have class, which is often the case on fridays. So I thought I did all my groceryshopping and could stay home under my blankets and read. But ah. I forgot some stuff, so I had to go out in the cold to get my lettuce.
As I crossed the lawn I saw a pigeon standing up against the wall and I could get fairly close. I figured I could talk to it when I came back (I was only gone for less than 5 minutes).
Then when I came back I thought it had gone, but when I entered our door-entrance it sat in the corner; I thought it's either hurt or cold.

As it had placed itself in the corner of a door that goes outwards, so I tried to make it move a bit out and then I could see that it had a injure on it's wing (I don't have a picture of that anymore). Then it walked more out into the snow.
So I called animal controlled and they told me to send them some pictures and so they could judge how bad of an injurie it had.
I was then told that it might have been a cat which had a go on it and I could place a towel on the pigeon and wait til they would send someone out to it - given that I couldn't kill it myself.
