Today is eBird's Global Big Day. eBird is a website where bird watchers can report what they've been seeing where.
Today is their Global Big Day, where they encourage folks from around the world to submit as much as they can.
So far we have hit up a few wildlife areas, and are trying to hit a couple more before it gets too dark.
We'll be submitting our data to their website after we get home, and adding pics and information here as well.
We've seen robins, cardinals, and tree swallows (which are common to this area). Our rarest sighting so far has been a Baltimore Oriole!
I encourage anyone interested in birds to participate. It doesn't have to be today, you can submit your findings any time.
It's a great way to keep track of the changing climate, help out eBird's research, or just find an excuse to get out and enjoy a beautiful day!
