Great Egret. The Great Egret or Great White Heron is a year round resident of northern California. This is a much larger bird than the snowy egret I posted yesterday. It is similar in size to the Great Blue Heron. They eat fish, frogs, and even small mammals spearing them with its long sharp bill.
Beautiful shots of the egret! Hopefully I will get to see some soon..
