The three-toed woodpecker (Picoides tridactylus), female.
The males have a cute bright yellow cap on their heads. You can see and read about this here.
Such a perplexed look. It seems they are already tired of me.
In fact, these woodpeckers are not shy. They can sit quietly next to me on a tree and do their own things.
By the way, I saw that they, male and female, keep separate, but sometimes unite and roam together.
And it is right!

Well, I do not know. I was told by people from other cities that they can not take a picture of a woodpecker in any way. Probably, everywhere in different ways. At us absolutely not timid woodpeckers. And in general all kinds! :)
Yes, they have a cool and useful tail. I read that their tail is sometimes sharpened.
