The white-backed woodpecker (Dendrocopos leucotos)

This species of woodpeckers lives in hard to reach areas of the forest. Where there are many different thickets, and trees felled by the wind. What is most interesting, this woodpecker nests in hollows, which he hollows out in broken birch trunks.
Despite the resemblance to the Great Spotted Woodpecker, he has much more white color on his back, the males have a full-length red cap, and on the abdomen there are thin black stripes. As you can guess, in the photo is a female. She was passionate about the process of searching for wood insects, so she did not pay much attention to me.

I absolutely adore these woodpeckers, an excellent shot. We have them in my country too and I love watching them, have tried to photograph one but not possible with a mobile phone as you cannot come close enough.

Thank you!
Yes, you won’t be able to shoot birds on your phone. Unless on new models, where there is a 100x zoom. And then, the quality of the photo will not be very good.
